to have your boiler serviced? £105 here.
to have your piano tuned? £75 here.
to have a small dog's teeth cleaned (4 premolars removed)? £212 here.
for a dry hair trim? £12.50 here.
to have a room (9ft x 14ft) and stairwell painted? £500 here + paint.
and any other everyday expenses. I wonder how they vary according to where you live? I'm in the south west.

apricot it is cheaper in London to get a boiler serviced-£75 and I thought that was daylight robbery.

I have never had a dry hair trim but a cut, wash and blow dry is £22 but at hairdressers about 2 miles away, it is £45 +++.

Never realised how much I was saving by always doing my own decorating. 500pound seems an awful lot.

I pay 24pound for roots, trim and blow dry on pensioners' day in South Cornwall.

£55 for cut and blow dry in N W London.
£10 an hour for a cleaner

Bez Mon 17-Feb-14 20:47:18

€35 for cut, wash and blow dry here in Dordogne - I paid a similar price in South Wales too but when I had high/low lights they were cheaper in France. Most other services are more expensive here I think but luckily we can do most things ourselves.

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 17-Feb-14 21:44:12

grin True!

My dry trim costs the same as the OP' s. Seem to remember DH doing some decorating in the dim and distant past. No dog. Boiler under a year old.

South East.

Boiler service £80 (Polish plumber)
Piano tuned £65
Dry hair trim £10.50

Reasonable prices for this area (Berkshire )

tiggypiro Mon 17-Feb-14 21:51:11

£91 for an oil boiler service

£7 for a dry cut

£21 to have my cat put to sleep (no dog!)

£900 (plus cost of paper) to have dining room, stairs and landing painted, papered and emulsioned. Sounds a lot but it is an absolutely b*** of a job - 5 windows, 7 doors and only one piece of paper can go on without being cut around something !

Piano not used so not tuned

North Yorkshire

Versavisa Tue 18-Feb-14 00:03:43

to have your boiler serviced? - No idea, the landlord takes care of it.

to have your piano tuned? - No piano.

to have a small dog's teeth cleaned (4 premolars removed) - no dog

for a dry hair trim? - only have a cut and blow dry at £35

to have a room (9ft x 14ft) and stairwell painted? - much tea, biscuits, cakes and encouragement to DH, and sometimes assisting myself too. Often wondered if in long run it might be cheaper to get someone in.

I'm in Bucks.
