Doc put me on a tiny wee dose of valium at night for a few days as I have pulled muscles in my back and the night time is difficult - can't turn over in bed. The idea was to relax the muscles.

All it has done is to produce the most horrendous nightmares and I have been awake half the night. I thought it was meant to make you drowsy!!!

Anyone else experienced this? I won't be taking any more. I'll just wait for it to get better.

Hello mishap, hope you feel better as the day wears on. I am also suffering, from the pain of a couple of cracked ribs. Doc put me on strong pain killers to let me get a nights sleep. but I didn't get any sleep at all with them, just the same as you, nightmares and feeling dizzy.
Will be settling for paracetamol from now on.

Mishap maybe those meds don't suit you I had a very small dose of Amitriptyline when I was waiting for hip surgery , as long as I took it by 8pm it worked very well and no hung over feeling in the morning.. but I am guessing you are done with meds for now.

Valium can induce bad dreams, especially if you are a light sleeper anyway. My GP reccommended Boots own Sleepeze [not sure of spelling] they are non habit forming and helped me when I had awful back trouble [ to take at night time].Tuning over is so painful isn't it?Wishing you a get well soon.smile

I went to bed fairly early but was woken up at midnight by the 2 year old in the flat above me running around!!! Didn't worry to much as I wasn't working today so could sleep in a bit. Not so. Our local foxes decided to have a sing-song outside my bedroom ay 6.30am. This upset my cat, who sleeps on my bed, who proceeded to growl and hiss.
I gave up in the end and went to make myself tea and porridge and took it all to bed with me and read for an hour.
This all was very annoying as I am frequently woken up in a lot of pain during the night. As well as arthritis I am suffering with a very painful right arm and shoulder. The pain was minimal last night, so I could have had quite a comfortable night.
