Morning Mick and all. Grey grey grey in kent again. It's all a bit well..dull and wet and miserable looking. It means there will be no brisk walking because the ground is all sodden and I will walk out of my wellies. Enjoy your day and tonight's celebrations if your attending any. Stay safe.

Good morning from East Sussex. Blowing a gale and raining. The wind is blowing the trees a not so merry dance.
The last day of, what has been for me, a stressful and distressing year both health and emotion wise. Here's hoping that 2014 is kinder and healthier for us all.

Calm before the storm here and all is eerily quiet. Happy New Year's Eve everyone and have a brilliant party (those of you who are partying - we'll be sat in bed with a glass of champagne watching everyone else's fireworks - weather permitting)

The calm before the storm here too. The wind is picking up but it is dry at present. My front "lawn" is a mud bath.

Light grey in Durham. We had sun yesterday. Well we had rain wind and power blink but I definitely saw the sun . It's still there

Just had a howling squall go through here in Cheshire, now it's raining - again.

My bit of Cheshire is just dull and a bit windy at the moment. I was planning to go for a walk but it will have to wait methinks.
I shall be taking down my few decorations when I've prised myself off the sofa!

Ooops! Spoke too soon, it's now p**ing down

We've just had similar in staffs, ps and Lona. Came from nowhere and hammered down.

Same here in north Manchester, ps and Lona - went from being a bit too calm and overcast, to howling wind, followed by the current icey downpour. Our lawns are absolutely sodden, the fields are a mud bath, slipping and sliding, despite good boots, when out with the dogs. The dogs have gone back to sleep, luckily, and we'll venture out when it calms down a bit, I do hope it does.

Good morning wet and windy in my corner of Cheshire. Not a very happy bunny this morning as my bp started playing up yesterday. I have been feeling so well of late, I suppose it could be post Christmas stress or simply my meds have decided to stop working. So off to the doctors shortly.

It has poured with rain here, and stopped again.

I am still on the domestic kick and have not only cleared out the under sink cupboard but have made two pots of cranberry sauce - fresh cranberries found half price, and it keeps forever...

Found an amazing number of things I had completely forgotten about!

You've got me going too Alie, I've emptied a kitchen cupboard and tidied the utensil drawer! Got a lot of cut glass champagne flutes for the charity shop, I'll never use them again.

Good afternoon all, it's grey here too. It was light grey earlier and is getting progressively greyer, we'll probably have rain before the -day- year is out. Hope everyone has a happy and healthy 2014.

Alie I wish you could find DH's tablet.(not the sort you take) I've sent him a book to read on it and now he can't find it to recharge it.

We've got that horrid wet drizzle that soaks you to the skin without really trying. It looks to be set in!

We've just had Nigel Slater's Christmas Quackers for lunch and it was delicious - highly recommended. We rarely eat in the middle of the day so I am now going to snooze through a James Bond film.

Thank you dustyangel doc tweaked my meds so hopefully back to normal soon.
