A-level results

Yes I'm waiting for my lovely DIL's results - I've just spoken to her on the phone and she can't get through to College so is having to drive there with DGS to find out. More waiting!

Just heard that my goddaughter missed her grades for medicine at Bristol & is going into Clearing.

Now about to do some frantic research into exactly what that means....

DGS will have AS results tomorrow. A nail biting time all round.

By the time my baby DGS gets to A level age I will be 83. I seriously do wish I and my DD had had children earlier.

My DGDs are 13 and 8, Nelliemoser - I'll be in my 80s once it's DGD2's turn. Assuming they still have A-levels then, anyway.

My son went through clearing (very stressful) and received four offers, he has until 5pm to make up his mind and I am currently biting my nails as to whether he will choose the one 45 mins away or the one 10 hours away.

This is bringing back all the feelings of stress from when mine son and daughter were going through this. You have my sympathy.

I wish all your DGCs the very best of luck with results and clearing thank goodness I don't have to go through this again for a couple of years,just waiting for DGS4s GCSE results next week so he can decide which course he will take for the next two years.

I keep seeing that heading that says 'students still confused about clearing' and keep reading it as 'cleaning'. Which is unfair as, memories of 'The Young Ones' aside [I loved that series] most of the students I've known recently are far more domesticated than I am. I'll never forget visiting my son when he was at Leeds and the lads in the house were frantically cleaning everywhere [they shouldn't have bothered].
