At what age did you move your babies into a cot in their own room? And what age did your children do this with the grandchildren.
My GS is still in his Mum's room - her hubby is in the spare room (that will be baby's room eventually). My D is getting almost no sleep - baby is 8 months, chubby, fit, well-fed, but he wakes 2 or 3 times in the night and she has not had a stretch of sleep of more than about 2 hours since he was born. And she had a difficult pregnancy, so she got little sleep then. She has a 3 year old boy too.
She is utterly worn out and is beginning to get emotional and anxious, mainly I think through sleep deprivation.
She asked what she might do, and I did venture to suggest that maybe baby would settle better when he stirs in the night if he were in his own room - I think she would just not hear him when he wiffles a bit and he might settle himself down - and she might get a longer stretch of sleep.
I know mine were in their own rooms by about 6 weeks and I only got up to them if they needed feeding or if they sounded seriously upset. Snuffles and wifffles went over my sleeping head.
I know the advice about these things changes and different ideas come into fashion - anyone know what the latest advice is?
