Just saw in the paper that she’d died at 83, but possibly not v recently, it was in a quiz and didn’t say.
Often enjoyed her books as a quick, light and funny read. Loved the delightfully un-PC Agatha Raisin, and of course Hamish Macbeth, too.
Saw an interview with her not long ago, where she said she only ever killed off very unpleasant people who richly deserved it! Said she’d once gone on a cruise, expecting to find some victim material, but it was useless since everyone was too nice!
RIP, MCB.
Words you don’t often see now.
