Followingc 3 years of being treated for a muscle problem x-ray in November 25 diagnosed severe arthritis in hip. Saw a consultant yesterday. X-ray showed a very thin line of space between bones. Apparently, this isn't worthy of surgery for replacement.. Was told as I currently do not use a stick or any walking aid no action to be taken. Was advised to contact GP for stronger painkiller medication ratger than use paracetamol and ibuprofen. Also suggested I may be back in 3 or 4 years and surgery may be considered.
I know many folk who have had hip or knee surgery due to arthritis but never used walking aids Anyone else been diagnosed with severe arthritis in hip but no surgery follow up.
