Has anybody tried using two single duvets on a king size bed? My husband is a duvet hogger and I wake up cold!

Any advice appreciated šŸ™

He suffers from alzheimer's

Yes, it’s a really good idea and we did this once when DP was ill.
He needed to throw his duvet off and on all night so this fixed the problem.

We have a king size at home, until the next replacement.
When we were in Italy the hotel provided 2 single duvets for the king size bed.
Great idea as my DH, throws the duvet off, so it’s either no duvet or double with his cast off layer. So I’m persuaded.

Oh dear my dad was the same with his Alzheimer’s, throwing off the covers. I never thought to suggest to her to use separate duvets šŸ™„

Thank you. I'm off to m and s to buy a couple of singles. Probably different togs too

I use 2 single, light weight duvets on my bed, mainly because I can't cope with changing the cover on a heavy double. So glad I changed to them a couple of years ago.

DH is a duvet hogger but over the years I have learnt to grab the duvet & fix it, without waking up! To be fair, I think he hogs the duvet in his sleep too.
Gone are the days of waking up cold & having to get up & do a tug o' war to get some duvet back!

Two single duvets on a double bed is common in Scandinavia

And single duvets are so much easier to flop over the washing line to air in the sunshine. I do that instead of laundering them as even singles would frighten my washing machine let alone doubles.

I love the thought of the washing machine hiding in the corner. Mine baulks at king size duvet cover!

We have used 2 single duvets on a double bed for our entire married lives .. 52 years.. mainly because when we married, I already had a single duvet, from student years, and buying another single was cheaper than buying a double.
Covers were fashioned from single sheets sewn together.
