Help re fuel providers

For a number of reasons I totally forgot to apply for the. warm front application end of last year My friend assures me that I still have time although “EON next” my provider have said I m too late As all the info says March is cut off date and we re still in March does anyone with a legal head know if they are just fobbing me off
Thanks I ve spent about three hours on the phone this morning ‘holding on’ to various companies and can’t manage any more today but if there is still time I could do tomorrow
