TV licence for over 75s

Does anybody know what the current update on this is? I thought it came into force on 1st August this year but we have heard nothing. Are we in danger of a fine if we haven't got one?

I think it may have been moved to October. Please do not worry, you will be sent an "official" letter requesting payment but be careful as there are so many scammers wanting your money.

Thanks Charleygirl15. After posting I suddenly had the light bulb moment of looking up the TV licensing site which gives excellent information on it. I hate losing this perk for the elderly but also hate being 'illegal' as it were. Hope this helps others out there who are also uncertain.
