Nah, they won't worry about Mrs Workington, they'll expect her to do as she's told. That's what they stereotype we northern women as because they're so bliddy ignorant about that foreign country "the north"
In fact, women in the north (west and east) worked outside the home, in mills, mines and factories, they baked, sewed, baby minded for as long as 'the north' existed.

We're a target marginal, despite not being a rugby town. Here's hoping our good Labour mp gets re-elected.

What would tempt Workington Man to vote Tory?

Iam64 if you're in a Remain seat it's likely that your Labour MP will be re-elected.

Labour seats in Leave areas are the prime targets. Voters who've been Labour all their lives might have difficulty voting Tory so will be tempted by the Brexit Party.

Be interesting to see if the Tories & Brexit have an informal agreement on not standing against each other.

What would tempt Workington Man to vote Tory?

Cheap chips, beer and fags? Whippet races on a Sunday morning? The prospect of hell freezing over?

Or ‘appen a few policies that would help the poor and vulnerable in our society and emergency aid for our desperate public services.

Well seeing that the Conservatives haven't lived up to their name---to conserve, and because of the austerity that they've created I would wager that not many Conservative members have followed that lead and will be changing their vote.

I'm a Northerner, a smoker but not a drinker nor eater of chips in a newspaper and quite reserved in my own way who's always voted Conservative, so if I bother voting ever again, it would be Labour who'd get my vote because of the now huge division in both parties making the Conservatives the party that only encourages those with enormous bank balances. Absolutely disgusting, a Them and Us society !!

What a stupid post.

Riverwalk, no I'm in a Leave constituency with a traditional Labour MP who works hard in the constituency. The MP isn't a fan of the current Leadership and has offended some Leave constituents by his stance on Brexit.
Until 1997 we were a marginal that predicted which of the two main parties would win the election. I fear we may be heading that way again. My hesitation about the leadership won't stop me voting for our MP again.
