Oil mark on fabric - help.

Stain Devils do an oil remover version or a supermarket stain remover spray might work? I'm surprised that your remedies haven't paid off......
Dabitoff was one oil remover I remember from years ago.
How exasperating.

I find Persil colour care capsules deal with greasy stains.

Are you sure they are still going to be the pair that fits after washing them at 60?!

What is Argon oil? Were you cleaning the mower?

It's the latest thing for hair, (I think) not sure if it's used on skin too though (numpty disclaimer applies, please see T&C's etc!)

jings ... I'm hoping they still fit, but had a go at the hot wash because the oil mark is really obvious on the front of the thigh.

I use the argon oil when I remember, just as a moisturiser. Trying to get an extra day before washing my hair (it looked really dry) I smoothed just a tiny dab through my hair.
It's available in the Pound Shop. - I dare say there are different qualities.

It really was quite a bit of oil. I have two little bottles, one squeezes out a couple of drops at a time..... I inadvertently had lifted the other one, cap off, tipped it up, and it glugged out.

Fuller's earth is a fabulous old product, totally natural, does not affect colour, and totally non-polluting, In France it is called Terre de Somière. It is a powdered clay which has huge fat absorbing qualities- you just put a little on the material with the fat stain- leave overnight- brush off gently, and Bob's your uncle. Great. OH is a champion at fat stains on the front of cotton sweat-shirts and t-shirts- I used some the day before last- 3 big blobs of fat- gone by the morning. And it is cheap too, and last for ages.

I've heard of Fuller's Earth, will look it up also.

But it does not normally work after you've washed them- somehow ;( bonne chance. I use it all the time, and what it great is that it does not bleach or affect colour, even on silk.

Try treating the stain from the wrong side. Turn your jeans inside out. Rub the stain from the inside with washing up liquid then rinse under hot running water. Try this a couple of times. You could use a nailbrush to massage the washing up liquid into the jeans, still on the inside. Rinse again under hot running water. This sometimes works. It's worth a try.

Stainslayer is brilliant! Smells of orange peel and works a treat. Supermarkets sell it or Lakeland.

I've always vaguely wondered what Fullers Earth is.

It used to be an ingredient in face packs too!

While on the subject of oily marks, some advice please! The 2 year old smeared Bepanthen bum cream(similar to Sudocream) all over the carpet. We scraped off as much as possible and shook baking soda over everything. Left for 20 minutes and then hoovered up. Next, a soapy gentle wash. It looked better this morning but the marks are obvious. Luckily it is a grey carpet.Should we repeat the process again, or should we have treated it differently? Since then she has climbed onto the work top, drawn on the walls, ripped off her nappy (yuk) and generally taken on an alter ego..... The terrible two's

Try a good rub with neat Fairy washing up liquid, leave 30 mins then wash off.

Don't use Vanish it takes the colour out.

The same thing happened to me 30 yrs ago! The new hall carpet was man made fibre and neat fairy worked.

I hope the stain does come out because I have found that greasy residue seems to attract dirt like a magnet. I have one tiny patch on my study carpet and I am forever trying to clean it.
