Volunteer sewers...

Hi Polly. I can't sew, sorry, but I thought your post was going to be about sewers as in sewage / volunteers to give underground tours of the sewers! You might want to re-post with the word changed eg maybe Sewing Volunteers?

I usually put something in brackets....after the word sewers.....it is a strange one...(nothing to do with working in smelly underground pipes ...)..why I did not this time I cannot remember....P

I like the idea, but surely wedding dresses aren't usually made of material suitable for tiny babies?

By 'Angel gowns' do you mean gowns for stillborn babies rather than clothes for prem/ underweight babies? When I was looking for patterns for tiny babies ( when GD 3 was born prematurely) I came across this term for the first time.

Oh, I'm so sorry - just seen your new thread Pollytunnel. I hadn't realised the gowns were for grieving parents' babies, so of course my point doesn't apply.

These are for non survival babes....I maybe did not make myself clear...gowns that are simply made but nice and wraps and little papooses..I think it originated in USA or AUS...It is now in NI a lady who is a midwife started there....I have the time and would love to get it going here...\facebook is not my thing really but I thought it may generate interest but to be truthful it is us seniors that sew and have a little time....
