Ingredients

450g (1lb) dried mixed fruit (incl cherries if liked)
1 mug hot black tea
1 mug soft brown sugar
2 mugs self-raising flour
1 egg (beaten)

Method

1. Soak fruit overnight in the black tea.
2. Next day, mix all ingredients together, then place in a 2lb loaf tin.
3. Bake for 2 hours at 160C/325F/gas mark 3.
