Lovetopaint I m with you 100%
If I had no other programme to watch I wouldn’t touch anything he was involved in with a barge pole, hideous man with hideous views.
I wouldn’t want to be around anyone with a liking of Farage and his ilk
Call me a leftie or any other disparaging name you wish, this is beyond politics and political parties it’s about treatment of human beings, it’s the whipped up hatred seen in pre war Germany
Such short memories

I’ve still got some tar and feathers left if you’re interested and also I’ve got quite a useful pitchfork (needs a polish but I will sort it)
Several have said they’re interested, but I think they turned out to be just time waster so it’s still available at very, very good price. 🤣

AGAA4 Fri 26-Jun-26 09:27:12

I won't watch it because Farage is making a huge amount of money from it.
It is still not watched as widely as BBC or Sky News. I know BBC don't seem to do popularity polls as far as I know.

Oreo Fri 26-Jun-26 09:08:18

And just for the record, I can’t stand Farage.
GBNews is now just very good after years ago a very shaky start. You just pick and choose which programmes on it to watch.

Oreo Fri 26-Jun-26 09:05:14

Just to correct myself…it’s Stephen and Ellie ( not Patrick!) on the morning show 🥴
Must be the heat.

I watched it once and as I like to have my prejudices affirmed not questioned, I never watched GB News again.

Actually I like the news to be as unfiltered as possible.

I suspect the viewers of GB News are actively encouraged to vote which may account for their continuing success in popularity poles. Whereas, I don't think other news channels bother to court popularity in the same way.

This fondness for GB News, and Farage's frequent performances there, could perhaps explain his popularity.

Lovetopaint037 Fri 26-Jun-26 01:33:49

It’s Farage’s channel. If I hit on it by mistake I get off as quickly possible.

I love GB news , always puts all the sides to an argument. The presenters all come across as being very involved with the stories. Martin Daubney often get chocked up and has a tear. Love Patrick and Emily and of course Dewbs .If its not for you ...don't watchwink

👏👏👏👏

They have plenty of Lefties on there too and some really lively discussions.

Yes they always have Lefties as well and its always interesting to listen to their point of view, even if I do not agree smile

Ah, but we're not supposed to mention other Threads now, Oreo.
😁

I’m suffering from a case of déjà vu.

There’s always sneering where GBNews is concerned there have been other threads on it.
Probably by those who have never ever given it a try.
Put the breakfast programme on, Eamon and Anne or Patrick and Ellie.
I like the very knowledgeable sports presenter on it too.

Fallingstar Thu 25-Jun-26 13:39:05

RT is a Russian television programme also frequented by another publicity hound with no scruples George Galloway.

Fallingstar Thu 25-Jun-26 13:37:44

@Graphite

Farage has been quite busy over the years appearing on various television programmes, as I found out when I googled Farage as a news presenter and found this -

“ Between 2010 and 2017, the UK politician was a frequent guest on the channel. He made nearly 20 appearances on RT, defending Russian policies, criticizing the European Union, and once famously stating that Vladimir Putin was the world leader he most admired as a "political operator"

I wonder why this doesn’t bother his many followers.

Shinamae Thu 25-Jun-26 13:05:14

You just did. 🤣 😂

Mentioned once! 😜

Good posts by Cossy and Graphite. Really no need for sneering high and mighty posts because people disagree.

Graphite Thu 25-Jun-26 11:28:52

I don’t feel that I am being high and mighty. I’m just questioning the reach and who is voting.

We have 24/7 news coverage across many platforms but, year on year, the shortlist for best news programme ends up whittled down to breakfast and early evening news on digital terrestrial TV.

Other categories seem equally odd. Football is the most watched sport on TV but the short list for Live Sport was Formula 1, World Darts, Six Nations Rugby and Wimbledon. Is that because, outside of major football tournaments there isn’t a lot of live football on digital terrestrial TV?

Interesting that the Best Sports Presenter shortlist was all women: Alex Scott, Gabby Logan, Laura Woods and winner Clare Baldwin. That’s great but again does that reflect that there isn’t much sport on digital terrestrial TV where men are presenting?

I am genuinely curious about how representative these awards are.

NotSpaghetti Thu 25-Jun-26 10:59:55

Oh, thanks. OK! 🙄

Cossy Thu 25-Jun-26 10:51:40

Saintly and high horse?

I’m neither, but thanks for the little emojis!

NotSpaghetti Thu 25-Jun-26 10:43:22

Please explain the saint and galloping horse thing?

Not being awkward - just obviously a bit slow today!

#confused
