Annoying celebs

I used to watch Susan Calman travelling around the UK in her camper van, Helen. Watching it now is becoming challenging as I find her so annoying, constant hysterical shrieks of deafening laughter or cackles at nothing, the people she interviews sometimes almost recoil in surprise..i don't know if she has a hearing problem but she shouts and talks so loud I constantly turn her down. She is exhausting.

Can't stand the one from just who does the one show 🙄 why is it you can go on strictly 🤔 and you are a tv personality 🤔 why should my licence money pay for these has been!!!!

The Liverpool Oratorio was mostly Carl Davis’s work.

Yes, I said that.
I met him. Lovely man.

Pointless arguments anyway.

Gemma Collins, Michelle Freegan and her Towie husband, (always begging for freebies). Denise Welsh or is it Welch? Bradley Walsh and his annoying Nepo son..

I thought that the thread was about “celebs”
“Gemma Collins “ ain’t no celeb!
She is off the scale annoying though.

Well I have never worked with him and you have. I only 'know' him as a mad Beatles fan.

Fair enough,

Grandma70s Sun 10-May-26 23:12:27

As presumably were the ”arrangements” for the RLPO.

As for comparing Paul M to Schubert - well, words fail me.

I didn’t want to go on with this thread, because it’s becoming absurd.

MissAdventure Sun 10-May-26 23:08:02

There's more to being clever than academically so.
One of the residents where i worked could throw his voice and make it sound as if he was in the cupboard under fhe stairs.
I defy anyone to be able to so that.

Yes, Carl Davies (Davis?) wrote some of his stuff. I suspect he resented the fact that McCartney took the credit, and probably most of the money, too. What McCartney did was hum a tune - some good tunes, I agree.

We’re never going to agree on this 😀

Carl Davis.

No he did not write some of his stuff as you so eloqently put it!

He admired their music and recorded Beatles music with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.

Believe me, he did. The Liverpool Oratorio was mostly Carl Davis’s work.

I take it you don't like Paul McCartney then Grandma70s. Well I don't see why it matters that he can't read music. He has given some wonderful songs to the world. I'm would be interested to know where you got your information from.

I got my information from working on a performance with him. He said himself that he couldn’t read “the dots”. I agree he wrote a few good tunes. What annoyed me (and many others) was that he had no desire to learn. He had lots of money, but no humility.

I’ve said all this already.

100% agree with :
SUE SMUG PERKINS
AMANDA CACKLING HOLDEN

Well, obviously I cannot agree with something which is non-factual

Has anyone seen the BAFTA fashions this year and what does everyone think of Christine McGuiness’s outfit!

Allira Sun 10-May-26 21:01:04

As sixandahalf rightly says above, reading music is not difficult - so why won’t he learn? That seems to me both ignorant and arrogant.

No, it's neither ignorant nor arrogant as presumably he collaborated with others who could notate music.

I learnt for years as did one of my DD; I no longer play but she can pick up most instruments and play by ear - it's a talent she has but I do not.

Why is Paul McCartney an ignoramus?

He could write a damn fine tune.

Apparently, he didn't write them down as he cannot notate music, that is why he is an ignoramus with an IQ of 1367 ad a fortune.

He plays by ear.

😁

IQ of 1367?? That certainly is remarkable!

The fortune is irrelevant. There are many rich people who are ignorant.

😂😂😂

Brilliant, isn't he!!

I bet he doesn't have fat fingers either.

Silvershadow Sun 10-May-26 20:54:14

Alison Hammond, Cat Deeley, Stephen Fry and the worst one is Charlene White who reads the news. Can’t stand her.

Cardamom Sun 10-May-26 20:51:44

He's crying all the way to the bank Grandma70s grin

Miss Adventure - What I call Mary Berry isn't printable. I had never heard of Noel Fielding before GBBO but I like him on it.

Allira Sun 10-May-26 20:26:51

I like Mary. Just saying.

I found Alison Hammond was really irritating but she was good on For the Love of Dogs the other evening.
And I like Davina too.

MissAdventure Sun 10-May-26 20:26:22

Saint Mary of Berry, somebody here called her once. grin

Bukkie Sun 10-May-26 20:22:51

Miss Adventure - I too hate Mary Berry. She is patronising and irritating made all the worse by the fact she thinks she is the nation's sweetheart. Whenever she appears on the telly I have to change channels. Unlike many of you I love Susan Calman, Alison Hammond (she is just pure joy) and Davina McCall. I suppose we are all different.

sixandahalf Sun 10-May-26 18:46:01

He plays by ear

Thought that said plays by car.

Most of the increasingly popular choirs are " by ear" these days.
