I love this series but this one was fabulous and I really liked all contestants. However, I so wanted the boys to win, I almost cried when they did. The filming and the scenery in the Stans was absolutely magical, what an amazing adventure for everyone who took part. I'd love to go but tbh I don't think I'd manage the food as I can be a little picky especially with meat. I can't wait for the next series. Well done Jo and Kush, they are definitely role models for their generation.

I agree with Bazza, wonderful stuff. I loved all the couples. The boys who won deserved it and I hope it's opened their eyes to the possibilities out there for their future. The world is indeed their oyster.
Loved the brother and sister in law, oh goodness I loved them all and Mongolia what an amazing experience.

It was a brilliantly enlightening series and the right pair won.

I don’t know if it’s too late to reopen this thread but I just wanted to say what a brilliant series this was, the best one yet after watching the final last night, and the interesting programme that followed about how it’s made. I think it’s a fabulous concept and the first one had my grandchildren pouring over a battered atlas, so educational as well. We were both fascinated by Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan and of course Mongolia, fantastic camera work of places that don’t get much coverage. Amazingly hospitable people, although I think I’d have struggled with the food produced on the home stays! Rude to refuse. I had no idea that horses were bred exclusively for milk and meat. We liked all of the contestants but were very pleased that the scouse boys won. I just wonder what the next route will be. Well done BBC which isn’t something I say often.

Fabulous series, glad Margo and Mark finnished the trip, it was touch and go for them at the end.

Mongolia, I have never seen before how the majority live, that was an eye opener. Don't think I will be booking a holiday there though.

The Boys did good, I was hoping it would be Katie and Harrison but pleased those young lads pulled it off.
Great series.

I always wondered how they filmed it- the last episode with reunion also explained a lot about how they do it. There's a huge team involved, but although some are in close contact with competitors, they don't help them at all, even if they know they're travelling in the wrong direction!

I’m also pleased that the two young men won. They certainly are a credit to their families and Liverpool, a city that often gets a bad press.

The ‘ Stans’ were really interesting, a mixture of the ancient traditions and modern world. I was fascinated by the taxi/ lift system, although some of the roads looked scary.

Silvergirl Fri 22-May-26 11:30:42

I was delighted they won too. One of them was going to use the money to help his mum put down a deposit on a house, I think.

I’ve loved the whole series especially them going through all the “Stans”. Much more beautiful and colourful than I had thought.

I was delighted that the lovely boys won. I haven't watched the reunion yet, will do so tonight.

ViceVersa Fri 22-May-26 10:20:48

Very happy that Jo and Kush won - they do seem like lovely young lads. I loved Katie too though - she was always so positive and upbeat. Glad to see Margo and Mark make it to the end as well - thought they might run out of money at the last minute.

I've loved this series.
Getting a glimpse of countries I'll never visit.

I'm so pleased the boys won. Such lovely young men.
I wonder what they plan to do with the winnings.

MayBee70 I agree, I now have a hankering to go to Mongolia…

I have a dvd of a film called The Story of the Weeping Camel which won some awards several years ago; I’ve been fascinated by the place since watching it.

TerriBull Thu 21-May-26 21:10:01

I don't have a hankering to visit Mongolia, interesting, but too cold and too bleak. I think I'd rewind back to the starting point of Palermo and then the Greek Islands. I thought Anatolia looked spectacular and very interested in the "Stans"

TerriBull Thu 21-May-26 21:06:58

Well done the boys! I wanted one of the youngster teams to win. The boys were my favourites, but I'd have been quite happy for Harrison and Katie to have won.

I love the series, it's such a great premise, can't wait for the next one now.

I haven’t watched all of the series but having watched the last episode I think I will. It’s been epic ( and quite moving). How lucky are we to sit in our living rooms and travel round the world seeing such beautiful scenery.

I have never watched this show before but for some reason started watching it this time - and I'm absolutely hooked! 40 minutes until the final episode, and then a catch-up show after that! The people have seemed very genuine and the way they support each other, especially Jo from Liverpool, is lovely to see, especially in young men. I will be happy if the boys win, or Katie and Harrison. They have been my favourites. I will certainly look for the next series!

You can find all the previous series on iPlayer 👍

I like the two Liverpoool boys as well.

This is one of my all time favourite tv shows. I’ve got everything crossed for Jo and Kush as I love their wonderful friendship, and so young too.

I don't have a problem with any of the contestants, although I do think the Northern Irish dad goes on quite a bit about his daughter striking out on her own from an independence pov, which is puzzling, she's a junior doctor, hardly a teenager

He's in denial, isn't he, that his little girl is no longer a child but a grown woman, a doctor. I wonder if it has always just been Dad and daughter or if Mum is around at all?

I love how kind and welcoming the hosts are when the teams do a family stay. Even with the language barrier their warmth and interest is heart warming. And those who give free lifts too.

And obviously have plenty of prior warning as they all seem to have the whole family gathered and put on a magnificent feast!

I've become very interested in the "Stans", we just don't hear so much about them, I guess they were under Soviet control for son long. I've been studying maps, Kazakhstan is huge, but then again so is Mongolia, final destination.

I love the programme, I hope BBC is lining up the next one. Keep them coming grin

The "in-laws" have a funny relationship!

They do!

I dont normally watch all episodes of this programme.
Not even sure I saw any of series 3 and 4.

I am liking this series so have stuck with it.
I have liked all the couples.

I probably want Katie and Harrison to win.
Partly because I think they deserve is as they keep coming top of the leadership board. [I havent seen all of ep 6 yet].
