Why not watch a different programme or do something else.

I like travel shows, have booked holidays having watched some of them.

I only watch the ones with presenters who I like or if I am really interested in where they are going.

Personally, I’d like to see a disabled celebrity present a travel show for a change.

Ade Adepitan MBE has presented The Travel Show, Africa with Ade Adepitan and Beyond Boundaries. (Wheelchair user, Paralympian, journalist and presenter)

Nikki Fox and Sophie Morgan both wheelchair users pop up on travel shows. (Presenters and journalists)

I'll watch the one on Norway but if Lorraine Kelly is annoying I won't stay! I prefer the travel programmes that show the aspects of a country that most visitors don't see. Like others, I like Simon Reeve's series for that reason. I've recently watched one about the Scandi wildlife, it was visually stunning, I also enjoyed a recent series about Japan, what an intriguing country!

He does.

Oh I love Simon Reeve too. He's a sweetheart. Well he seems it anyway.

Yes, I like him too - he seems very down to earth and genuine.

I'm reserving judgment on Monty Don's gardens along the Rhein starting tomorrow evening. I like him, he's interesting, I like gardening, he's knowledgeable, and I like Switzerland and Germany. 🤞
(Only downside is that Ned and Patti won't be in the programme).

Portillo likewise.

And how many more cruise holidays does Jane McDonald need????

Witzend Thu 15-Jan-26 17:38:02

I really like Simon Reeve. I’m sick of the sight of Michael Portillo! And TBH of too many other presenters to mention….

Kate1949 Thu 15-Jan-26 17:31:19

A new one tonight. Lorraine Kelly tonight travelling around Norway. hmm

I wish all these celebs would sail off into the sunset together. The only ones worth watching are Michael Portillo's train journeys. At least he adds some insight into the places he visits.

How many more of these are we going to get? So-called celebs getting free holidays, showing us stuff we have seen many times before. Latest offering is Favourite Railway Stations by the remaining Hairy Biker who I have never heard of. If I see one more free trip up Snowdon.......

Funnily enough I was thinking the same this morning when I looked at the TV listings. Perhaps it would make a good programme to pick random people from the electoral role and offer them a lovely holiday.

This infuriates me too. Robson Greene is on his second series, jollying around the country with his good friends. I think he has his own production company, so would reap even more profit for this, than just a fee for fronting the show. I think the worse one was Alison Hammond who took her son along. Did the licence fee people all pay for that? So unfair, especially as it's all been done before.
