I don't think Dev is badly acted. He has a rather idiosyncratic way of talking with stress on odd words and a voice that goes unexpectedly high pitched at times. Bernie isn't right for him at all. I am!!
OMG Aveline do I feel desperation creeping in? I cannot stand him. What has happened to Billy and Summer? Have they both left? I appear to blink too much and miss important parts.
Oh I m sorry Avaline I think Dev is quite cute but his acting is really dreadful also Yazmin who ias wooden as a clothes prop There are a lot leaving (I won’t say more) but I wonder what’s happening are they leaving a sinking ship or getting the push
BlueBelle I do not know, but it would not surprise me if they were being thrown out before the ship sank.
As we have said before, we need new writers, not eliminate many who have been there for years. Ken is apparently earning £1/4 million. I am not surprised he wants to stay until he is 100 in real life.
Ken seems to have slowed and become quite frail; at his age it's no surprise, but perhaps he intends to hang on as long as possible to be the first soap actor to reach 100 and still be working. If the newspapers are to be believed (!) he isn't particularly wealthy, as he has had some financial disasters along the way.
I watched The Chase game show yesterday, it may have been a repeat. Jack Carroll, who plays Bobby, was a contestant. He helped his team win money for charity. My word he is clever. I was cheering him on.
Did anyone see Bobby on The Chase the other night He was very personable and extremely quick and clever with the answers Very bright young g man and nothing like his character
Dreadful episode. The prison hostage taking was farcical. One minute Bobby taken hostage, next at Carla’s bedside, no police interviews. Rob finding god, then it seems it’s all a front. As if they’d have Rob and Matty in same prison or cell. Ridiculous.
Why oh why are we revisiting Carla needing yet another kidney transplant?
Plus refusing Rob’s if he were the last man standing.
Well, for a start, surely they need to check if he would be a suitable donor. No use getting worked up about it if he isn’t.
And of course, Alya (aka Perry Mason) sitting with her boss openly discussing Matty’s court case in Speed Dahl or wherever. And Adam offering to have a chat with Dylan about his in the cafe or similar.
Why not just set up in the Street and invite everyone to listen?
I had my hopes raised with the episode where Mason was stabbed. It was well scripted and acted but now we are back to rubbish again. When Logan was waiting in the visiting room I wondered if his visitor may have been his brother. Crazy, I know, but nothing surprises me anymore. The courts could save some money by holding their cases in Roy's Rolls, the Bistro, Speed Dahl or the Rovers because that's where they are discussed with anyone within earshot listening in.
The prison scene was dire. I will soon lose track of the number of court cases waiting in the wings. Where do they all find the money to hire Adam or is it "no win no fee?"
