I am so disappointed in The Sound of Music

I always think Rolf is a confused character who you can tell has been brainwashed by the Nazis and he does waver during the scene in the abbey. Also you do feel sorry for him when the Von Trapps escape as the Quisling, Herr Zeller, probably has some terrible punishment for him.

The escape from the Nazis was made up for the film, as the Von Trapps getting on a train to Italy and then moving to America wouldn't have been as exciting. Also Georg von Trapp didn't live in a huge mansion with servants, he lived in a smaller townhouse and was continually short of money.

As villas go, it wasn't too bad.
The von Trapp villa at Aigen is quite large, picture won't post.

I understand the von Trapps lost money during the Depression. Perhaps they had to downsize. It happens to lots of us.

I must have been about ten when I watched The Sound Of Music .
I was impressed that she wore curlers under her wimple .
That's great , I thought if I become a nun I can have long hair !
I've lived next door to two convents :
And I got to know the nuns in the much smaller one .
I can only describe them as wonderful company and lots of fun to be with .

Still, my American niece was extremely happy at 10 or so, to have her picture taken by the sign at KC station that points to Platform 8 and a half, or whatever it is!

I wouldn't let it bother you. This thread has cheered me up!

Unfortunately, I have a bit of a quirky sense of humour, but unless people know me, they don't always get it.
On Sunday, we were doing a head count at church and as I was standing in the porch some people passed by me, after Mass had started.
They asked what I was doing, I said: Oh, I'm counting the latecomers.

The were mortified, that's when I realised that I am not always amusing and some people take things literally.
