I’m now watching the documentary Andes Plane Crash on Channel 5 in 3 parts with a lot of input from some survivors.

Their ordeal was even worse than shown in the NF film eg. One person developed gangrene on his leg and operated on himself to cut it out to save his leg and his life. Obviously no pain relief or anaesthetic.

Yes we watched it and enjoyed the film, if that's correct in saying it as it was such a tragic event. We also saw the film made years ago about the plane crash called " miracle of the andes" and I read the book called "alive!" about it also published quite a few years ago

Has anyone watched this?

It's a film based on the plane crash in the Andes back in 1972, and is an amazing film of human endurance and courage and strength in terribly harsh conditions. It looked petty harrowing just to act in the film, let alone for the plane crash survivors in real life.

I remember this plane crash and thought this film was tremendous. I cried when the last ones were finally rescued.
