Apologies. It’s called Denmark not Amsterdam. It’s got a lovely dog in it.

His son, Rafe is in a film called Amsterdam which popped up on bbc iplayer. A rather sweet quirky little film which I enjoyed more than The Last Bus.

I also like Timothy Spall, he's undoubtedly a fine character actor. I didn't enjoy this film though, maudlin and depressingly sad. I stuck with it but wished I hadn't bothered.

We really like Timothy Spall, but we thought this film was absolute garbage.

Yes its been on before.Quite ok as dramas go.

Agree that the sixth commandment was excellent. He’s come a long way since auf wiedersehen pet!

I watched this film last week, think it was on BBC2, I recorded it and watched it late at night.
Timothy Spall is so versatile.
Really enjoyed it.

I tend to watch British films as I think Brits generally speaking make far better films than the Americans. Too much noise and too over the top in American films. I thought The Last Bus was a great example of British film talent.

Poignant, emotional, sad, the goodness of many people but not some. Good film but you'll need your tissues.

Yes, I watched The Last Bus in the early hours of this morning - couldn’t sleep due to a trapped nerve in my spine (awaiting surgery). Was feeling very sorry for myself and this film turned on the tears big time! What a lovely film, it puts your faith back in people (well some people) - thoroughly recommend.

Yes The Sixth Commandment was excellent. Dreadfully sad, beautifully acted but again harrowing .

HowVeryDareYou2 Mon 18-Dec-23 16:40:32

The Sixth Commandment is a better Timothy Spall film, a true-life story. I cried at that.

MrsKen33 Mon 18-Dec-23 16:34:23

There is another Timothy Spall film, I believe on Netflix. Snow in Benidorm. Not a laugh a minute but poignant in places

HowVeryDareYou2 Mon 18-Dec-23 14:55:16

I like Timothy Spall, so watched this film last night. Whilst well-acted and emotional in parts, I found a lot of it rather daft.

Aveline Sun 17-Dec-23 21:08:19

I actually gave up on it. Life's depressing enough without watching this for entertainment. Sorry everyone.

Redhead56 Sun 17-Dec-23 19:31:44

I watched it this morning it was sad and true to life in a lot of ways we just don’t know what lives other people live. It made me tearful to say the least thats down to good writing and acting British drama at its best.

Beechnut Sun 17-Dec-23 18:46:38

I’ve just watched it 🥲

Kandinsky Sun 17-Dec-23 17:47:14

It was very sad - the obvious bit ( don’t want to spoil it for anyone who hasn’t watched it ) but I found the majority of it a bit trite.

MrsKen33 Sun 17-Dec-23 17:16:35

Gosh, that was harrowing .

Aveline Sun 17-Dec-23 09:23:04

Sounds ideal Sunday afternoon viewing. Thanks all.

Primrose53 Sun 17-Dec-23 09:17:05

Saw it when it first came out. Loved it. 👍👍

I saw it when I was on holiday in October. I enjoyed every minute and it was so well acted and thought provoking.

Littleannie Sat 16-Dec-23 20:40:37

Lovely, lovely film. Made me cry.

Delila Sat 16-Dec-23 19:23:02

Yes, it’s on iplayer. Very moving.

MayBee70 Sat 16-Dec-23 18:54:33

I watched it the other night. I can watch Timothy Spall in anything. I also watched Lost at Christmas (which I thought was rubbish but then watched again). The actress that was in Lost at Christmas had a small part in the Last Bus which is why I made a point of watching it.
