As I said, I’m not recommending it. But it’s really affected me. The sheer process of filming something for many years plus the editing of what must have been an astronomical amount of footage fascinates me. I think it was Molly Dineen(?) many years ago that started making documentaries similar to this. Then, of course, there are the amazing Ed Burns documentaries. On must Watch they said his Vietnam is probably the best documentary ever made (I haven’t seen it).
