Good luck with this venture!
Suggest you re-post with Chicago in the title as we are a mainly UK based website. There may be some Chicago grandparents on here though...

Having never hosted a meetup.com site before, I was a bit reluctant. Much to my amazement, considering how restricted my market, I have over 20 members in less that 24 hours. And already have 4 sign-ups for the first event. Not what I expected .
