I returned to the thread this morning and found to my surprise and, I must admit, my slight amusement, that I have been accused of "singling out" someone, for a "personal attack". Really? Yes, I have been critical of unsubstantiated, accusatory comments which have been made about the Schofield case, which I would argue could certainly be described as "personal attacks",. a position which I have consistently taken against anyone and everyone who has joined the speculative feeding frenzy which surrounds this deeply unpleasant episode. Check it out on this thread. So yes, I admit to "singling out" and responding to a certain mindset, but never an individual. As for my comments relating to the views of the "victim" of my alleged persecution, my attention was first drawn to the playing down of adverse media influence on the trial process. The fact that this opinion was expressed by someone trained in the legal profession both surprised and interested me, so I responded simply by saying that The Human Court of Human Rights did not agree, and had legislated accordingly. The rather dismissive reply I then received, (check it out),which even referred (why?) to a meeting with Lord Denning, went on to admit that the contributor had "studiously avoided" news items about the case, and seemed to find it a positive when they admitted that their opinion was solely informed by what they had seen on this thread. Was it unreasonable for me to then respond in a critical, questioning manner to such an astounding admission? There is confusion here between what is a "personal attack", and what is simply reasoned critical debate based around conflicting opinions. I challenge anyone here to check my posts and to show where I have made such an attack. Please feel free to refer any such example to GN for moderation. Sorry, but the only "victims" here are those who are directly involved in the case, many of who have been subjected to unwarranted, accusatory speculation. What I do have in common with those who have chosen to "pick over the bones" in that way is that none of us actually know what happened, other than the lying and the adultery. I'll leave it there.
