He's not been accused of any crime. Caroline Flacks mother has said that he should be left alone. Enough already.
What did you you think you would have by your current age that you don't?
Am I being a bit slow but why is Phillip Schofield being thrown under the bus now? He came out about his sexuality , now revelations about an affair with consensual teenager that he covered up to protect identity , Maybe I'm being naïve but not sure why there has been such a big disconnect from TV at this point .

I don’t like him, as I’ve said numerous times on this thread, and I don’t really care about it him, beyond not wishing any other human harm, but I do think that if he’s committed a crime, then the police should investigate and if appropriate, charge him ( Lord knows if he’d get a fair trial though, maybe it’d have to be a judges not jury trial, but I think that’s not possible for a criminal trial. GSM would know more.) Otherwise I think he’s been sacked, he’s fallen from grace, and so he should be left alone. It was stupid of him to agree to an interview in my opinion, he’s just thrown fat on the fire.
Thank you, Lovetopaint037. I agree, just leave him alone.
He did look in a poor state during his interview and whatever he did or did not do I think he should just be left alone. Just thinking about Jesus and the casting of stones if you are without sin. He has been punished which is more than half the philanderers have been.
I see it as analogous to the story of the emperor’s new clothes. Nobody would speak out for fear of the crowd turning on them. Then someone did, and they could all see what had been staring then in the face all along.
Yes Dragonfly, if Schofield could have done, he’d still be the perfect family man; along with his love nest in London where he entertained his young lover(s).
This was the state of play for a long while.
Surely the issue here is that PS used a 20 year old colleague to establish his own sexuality. As he said it happened about half a dozen times in 6 months. There was no love involved, no commitment and he had been in contact with this boy since he was 15 years old. Of course he lied - he knew it was wrong and that is why he is so wretched now - because he got caught!
Also, I don’t watch TM or follow celebrity gossip as you put it. It’s been headline news all week so hardly celebrity gossip.
I'm not a fan of PS or HW, but I do worry about the way all this is going. PS looked dreadful during the recent interview.
He did receive 6 months pay and officially he resigned.
I don’t follow celebrity gossip or watch TM, but if your version of events were true tickingbird, don’t you think he would be taking ITV to a tribunal claiming unfair or constructive dismissal?
Good post tickingbird. The first three words of your second paragraph are key - quite a lot just aren't.
I agree wholeheartedly with all Doodledog has said. There’s been many points made that aren’t being acknowledged.
Think about it. He came out as gay after the young man openly declared his love at the tv awards. The public weren’t aware of this but, for whatever reason, PS came out. A flurry of media attention, young man shipped out then business as usual.
This isn’t why PS was sacked/resigned. By all accounts Holly Willoughby had stopped talking to him and issued the execs an ultimatum - either he goes or I do. This, reportedly, because she didn’t want to be tarnished by association because of the brother’s conviction. So he didn’t lose his job because of any affair. He would still have been working on other programmes for ITV but not TM. Then - for some reason unknown he unexpectedly released a statement revealing he’d lied to everyone and that is when he lost everything else.
Why aren’t all his supporters asking WHY he released that statement. What pressure was he under and WHO was applying that pressure?
I can’t understand why others can’t see this. It’s not really about PS, it goes beyond him and, in my opinion, Holly Willoughby isn’t the giggly blonde she’d have us believe.
I would imagine he has been removed from the PT simply because an older, powerful person having sex with a very much younger fellow employee, and lying about it to their family and employer, is not the sort of behaviour expected of a PT Ambassador.
He's probably been removed from the Prince's Trust because they're aware of stuff relating to Schofield that isn't out there yet in the public domain - distancing themselves from what might come out.
So Schofield has been removed from the Prince's Trust when all that has been proven against him to date is that he has been unfaithful to his wife. Hmmm... A certain irony there... and perhaps just a wee touch of hypocrisy?
Claiming homophobia - ridiculous
I certainly think there needs to be investigations into what he did or didn’t do. Also into the cover up role of ITV and the other presenters, and why any earlier mentions of his activities were not investigated.
I don’t like him, so I have no trouble believing what he’s accused of doing.
I don’t need to see emotional interviews with PS. Can you imagine inviting JS or RH onto TV to give their version of events?
The problem with trial by media is that, for example if it turns out he had done nothing more than he claimed on the BBC interview, he wouldn’t be believed and if anything came to court, then we would be like Fury in the Mouse’s tale;
I'll be judge, I'll be jury,'
Said cunning old Fury;
'I'll try the whole cause,
and condemn
you
to
death.
Rylan a gay man on this morning had an affair last year, he was not sacked, he did not lose any advert deals etc. If he is involved with charities they didnt drop him. This is to do with interacting with 15 year olds on social media, then the power imbalance within the workplace, and also that some of the activity happened within the workplace.
People talk about the dangers of trial by media, that may be true, but it's not as if not talking about it is the 'good' option and doesnt do harm. Sorry but life is not that simple.
In the same way that saying oh be kind around caroline flack did in my view untold damage.
I don’t think the people who want this to be investigated fully necessarily ‘care about Phillip Schofield’. I don’t. I care about what he is alleged to have done, and about anyone he is alleged to have done it to. A prurient interest in Schofield s not why people are keeping the story in the news. It is so that the people at the top of ITV can’t ignore what has been going on any longer.
This thread is frustrating. People keep coming on and suggesting that it is all celebrity fluff, as they clearly haven’t bothered to read what has been said, as none of that is responded to. It’s as though the fact that PS worked in daytime television means that people talking about it must be airheads obsessed with ‘celebrity’, and the thread will be beneath their intellectual interest. Despite ‘not caring’ about any of it, and despite not knowing what it is all about or why it matters, they have to have their say though
Trial by media - but his interview, a presenter crying on live TV about him, a bereaved mother weighing in with support for him, and criticism of his former employers - it's just fuel to the media trial flames.

Why should we care about Philip Schofield???
He’s merely a TV presenter ….and yet his story has been the first item on BBC News at Ten????
The media is now 24 hourly.
There used to be 4 or 5 channels. Now there are countless.
It all needs filling.
It is trial by media-
the TV,
any social media that hides under anonymity.
Who cares about Philip Schofield? What does it matter? It’s not important
