Anyone watching this? I saw a foreign version of it several years ago, but this is Australian and is turning out to be a very good drama - well acted and scripted. Not sure how many episodes but I'm on episode 3 and really enjoying it.

I agree, there are too many drama series revolving around murder in general, and too often sex and young women. Is this what viewers want to keep spending their evenings watching? And of course countless detective series too, which always involve murder. I really am sick of people being murdered and I don't understand this obsession with it.

Chestnut I totally agree!
I couldn’t get on with it at all.
(I am rather rubbish at following plots though)
That man having sex in the first episode made me laugh out loud! He was at it like a rabbit!

I didn’t fancy the whole premise of sexualised violence and young women either.
There’s too much of it about in ‘entertainment’ imo

Oh dear, I have fallen at the second hurdle. Just couldn't take any more. Too many characters to follow and I have no interest in doing so as I don't like them, too much swearing, a plot which is just too convoluted to follow. I just don't like it. That's unusual as I normally love anything Australian. Sorry Sam, will have to catch up with you another time.

As promised, have watched the first episode and found it okay. Wasn't keen on the gratuitous sex and swearing as neither served any purpose whatsoever, so why include it? I will keep watching but so far none of the characters have grabbed me. I like to have someone I can relate to but I'm not really keen on any of them. Sam Neill is wonderful of course, with a huge screen presence as you'd expect.

I'm afraid I still haven't started it as I've only now finished Atlantic Crossing. Will definitely start it tomorrow night.

I’m on episode 8, it’s a pretty good drama.

ITV x is good, we also paid for no ads…just under 60quid for the year …with an extra free 7 days , I think it’s worth it as I tend to catch up with programmes so not having the ads is great.

Wow! Just finished the final episode of The Twelve (10 episodes in all). Absolutely terrific in my opinion. An excellent drama.

Bluebelle
Press the home button the one under Netflix. It looks like a house. That’s why it’s called the home button. 😄 That gives you everything.

We have now watched 8 of the 10 episodes of The Twelve, it's brilliant. Very well acted, great story-lines and absolutely compulsive viewing.

ITVX is an excellent service, we've paid to have a no-adverts version and it works very well.

BlueBelle

Which one do you mean

My remote is different to yours, and I'm FAR from being an expert, but try that white button two-thirds of the way down your remote, just above the pause symbol.

marshmarigold132 Sun 19-Feb-23 18:45:07

Put the app for ITVX on your tablet, find programme and play then scan to tv.

Sparklefizz Sun 19-Feb-23 18:40:07

Bluebelle Is there a red house/home symbol button on your remote? I press that and I get all the names of the streaming channels on the screen, then I can just move the cursor along to ITVX.

crazyH Sun 19-Feb-23 18:32:58

Just under the Netflix button

crazyH Sun 19-Feb-23 18:31:54

Yaaaaay - got it! If you have a Smart TV , just press the white Play (with a squiggle) button, on your Remote Control and ITVX will pop up - I hope I explained it properly

This might help.

Also, do you still have itv hub showing. When you select this there should have been an update option.
If you read the article the important part is to make sure your smart tv is on automatic update.

Chestnut
There are many many programs on ITV x, i player, all 4, my 5 that aren’t shown on terrestrial tv. These are stand alone companies.

BlueBelle Sun 19-Feb-23 18:03:35

Annoying isn’t it charleygirl My Smart Tv is only a couple of years old so not at all sure why we can’t find it
Any help appreciated

Charleygirl5 Sun 19-Feb-23 17:51:32

I also have a Smart TV and no joy- I am like BlueBelle I searched the channels but no joy. It is not on Freeview.

BridgetPark Sun 19-Feb-23 17:50:00

I am halfway through The Twelve, and its brilliant, keeps you guessing. My other favourite is 5 Bedrooms, waiting for the next series to be shown. It is so touching and sad and funny, brilliant script and acting. You have to give it 2 or 3 episodes to get into the characters, but its worth it, very entertaining.

BlueBelle Sun 19-Feb-23 17:45:09

Where do you find it sparklefizz what number is it on ?
I went through the channels today but didn’t see it might have missed it though there seems a lot of new channels I hadn’t seen before

Oldbat1 Sun 19-Feb-23 17:39:54

We have itvx but without the ads. We hate adverts.

Sparklefizz Sun 19-Feb-23 13:17:20

I can get ITVx on my smart TV, no problem.

Chestnut Sun 19-Feb-23 12:54:51

I don't think The Twelve Has been shown on TV, so I'm not sure why ITV are streaming things they haven't shown on TV. Is this something new?

I also can't see the point of showing a weekly series on TV whilst streaming all the episodes straight away. I would just go and watch them online rather than wait several weeks to see them all. They didn't do that with Happy Valley but I guess on the whole they're scared people will lose interest and stop watching if it's shown weekly.

Chestnut Sun 19-Feb-23 12:44:35

I don't know what ITV are doing but it seems the ITV app doesn't seem to work any more, so you have to use ITVX. I can't get it on my normal BT Vision box like all the others (iPlayer etc.) but I can get it through my Amazon Fire Stick. Not sure if a smart TV will get it but I don't have one.
