A fascinating documentary about someone who claimed to be a holocaust survivor. A book was written about her and a film was made. She gave talks to schoolchildren who marvelled at how she lived with a pack of wolves who helped her to survive. However, she was shown to be a fantasist and a fraud. But then a journalist followed up the story and found that the true story as as intriguing as the made up one. What I don’t understand is why her story was believed in the first place given that it had so many loopholes (or lupine holes). I guess that, pre internet it was more difficult for people to access information. But, even so there was no way that a seven year old girl could have survived in the way she claimed.
