Adele new song

Hope you can make sense of it - her comment should have come only before the part about her son - not where it magically appeared for a second time - near the beginning!!!! I thought the same - it's not news; it's advertising. I wonder who she know"I was living my life for the first time without compromise, without criticism and with full control. It felt empowering."s to get this on the main news. Surely many other singers (famous and not so famous) have released albums after a few years away - Sting, for example. I guess it's because she's making a 'statement' about it being a way to explain/justify her divorce to her son, but I'm not sure media publicity for her marital woes is a healthy way (for him) to explain it. The statement she made ""I was living my life for the first time without compromise, without criticism and with full control. It felt empowering," seems very selfish considering she has a young son. I shouldn't think many of us can (or should) live our lives that way. I wonder if she will feel the same way if he does the same to her (living his life etc... ) when he's an adult. Doubt it somehow.

I know she has a massive following of devoted fans - but I've never really enjoyed her singing. It's all very much the same.

Her PR people are exceptionally good to have obtained so much free (or perhaps not free?) publicity from the BBC, online and on both major news bulletins.

First time I heard it my reaction was that it sounds very much like her other songs - having listened to it several times now I haven't changed my opinion.

I’m really confused about why it was on the main news at 10pm. Adele has released an album - so what?! Ok, it’s the first album in however many years, again so what?! I do like Adele and her music, but not sure about the new song yet. So much HYPE!!

I'm not that keen on Adele. She doesn't seem to use a natural voice, it seems strained to me and perhaps that is why she ended up with throat problems.

Adele must be laughing all the way to the bank, because she is the most overrated singer ever. She has hardly produced any music and they are mostly miserable heartbreak songs. I find it quite shocking she received an MBE, when you think of all the singers and groups who have been around for decades and done a huge volume of work. Justin Hayward of the Moody Blues has been around since the 1960s, has written countless songs and contributed so much more (just one example). And yet Adele gets an MBE after 5 minutes in the charts, which shows how meaningless those gongs are.

I’m currently watching the programme about Paul Simon on Sky Arts and was thinking about divorce/break up songs/albums (I’d forgotten that he was married to Carrie Fisher).I seem to remember my daughter saying years ago, when her album was really popular, how lucky it was for Dido that she broke up with her boyfriend as she wouldn’t’ve had a hit album otherwise. Someone else was talking about ‘the break up album’ the other day, but I can’t remember who it was.

Adele was on the main ten o clock news tonight; her album seemingly is to 'explain to her son about her divorce'. I truly have nothing against this beautiful woman who is feted for her talents, but this sounded like self indulgent claptrap. How much is her son likely to appreicate an 'explanation' that millions will be listening to? It might be better to sit and talk to him about this private and undoubtedly painful event, and I am also surprised that this trivial matter got on to the main news of the evening, particularly given the terrible stabbing today of David Amess.

I’m not a fan either. I think she is very overrated.

I think it’s great, and yes it’s about her sadness but she notoriously writes good sings when hurt. She’s a huge talent that should be applauded. She has done some really jolly songs too, Send my love is lovely.

It's about time she sang a cheery song. We don't need to know all about her divorce.

Adele had the two best selling albums in the last 10 years in the UK, and this is her first album for 6 years, that’s why it’s news. I like the song.

I am not a fan. She doesn’t sing, she whines.

I have always loved her voice. Kamiso I agree. Her poor son. She was quoted this week as saying that she consciously decided to dismantle her son's life and put her own happiness first.

I like Adele, I have listened to the new song, not sure about it yet, maybe I need to listen to it a few more times, she does keep reiterating a lot of personal stuff, best kept under wraps imo, a little bit tedious at times.

I think she likes to showcase her nails in her videos!

It sounds like almost every other Adele song. I am afraid it doesn’t give me goosebumps so I doubt it will make a huge impression on the charts.

I like her music but don’t like what she’s done to her face.
