Early days but not too sure about this new programme. What do others think? Bradley Walsh sounds the same in every programme he is in. Is he acting or being himself? Still, it’s early days.
We’ve just started seeing this in NZ. Remind me, was there a Vicar in the original, I don’t remember him? I miss the old Edith and the General mightily. The new Charlie just doesn’t cut it for us. Joanna Scanlon is obviously not Pam Ferris but is believable and enjoyable. But like others say this series is pleasant Sunday evening watching, but it’s wanting. Perhaps we shouldn’t compare…..but the original was just soooo good.
Watched a couple of the new series, like Bradley Walsh, but not right for this. Have given up on it, really not a patch on the old series which I’ve been watching on itv3.
First series was in Pluckley. I know the area and lived quite close at o e time.
I enjoyed the original but hated this woke version. It just wouldn't have been that way in the 50's. It has totally lost the spirit of the original but Ma Larkin actor was the best bit about it. Its characters are not quirky enough like the original.
Watched about ten minutes , is this the Walsh family show?! BW and his talentless son ? Too much. Wooden characters, poor acting I'm afariad it a thumbs down.didnt mind first series but never understood what it was all about? Not being from dahn saarf it was meaningless and odd?!
Our licence money goes to the BBC lightallen. This programme was ITV. Idk why producers have to deviate from the original story so much. I suppose they are trying to appeal to a different audience. It didn’t work for me. Just as I was disappointed with the Agatha Raisin series having read all the books - Agatha had brown hair not blonde, the vicar was black not the fuddy duddy white guy, and so on.
Why bother to spend a lot of our licence money on a remake, when there is a perfectly good and enjoyable original series. I usually find that remakes are not as good as the originals anyway. Now I am having a whinge, am I not?
Callistemon He must have said potato at some time especially with so much food around. Was it a chicken in the oven and a goose out of the oven. Plastic flowers. Hardly anybody at a fete in the 50's .......
I don't think it's Bradley who says 'potato' at the end of the Chase. It could just be the name of the production company but! I might be wrong.
Absolute rubbish, and so over-acted. Loved the original series. I will not waste my time watching this re-make. Why do they have to do re-makes. You cannot improve the originals

I know it is about escapism, but the amount of food that was piled on the table was gross it looked like an Iceland advertisement for Christmas. I thought the acting was over the top but so was the first series. I have less patience these days? . I don't remember watching every week back in 80s and probably won't watch it again.
Probably heresy I know, but I actually prefer the new All Creatures Great and Small to the original. I always thought Christopher Timothy was miscast and much prefer the latest incarnation with James actually being a Scot. Didn't like The Larkins at all. I grew up in Kent in the 50's, and it was a great deal less diverse than this woke version would have us believe. Bradley Walsh is no match for David Jason, and does it have to be written into all his contracts that his son has to be given a job as well? There were a lot of anachronisms too.
