So, fellow fans, what do we think of the lineup? A very mixed bunch, personally only know of five, I’m sure we will soon have our favourites. Can’t wait for the glitz and glamour to brighten the long dark nights looming?

AJ, Rose, and John for me as well. Either Judy, Dan or Sara in the Dance off for me. Lovely evening of dancing.

Casdon Sat 30-Oct-21 20:54:00

Agree Mollygo. I liked Tilly tonight too, she’s really improving.

Calendargirl Sat 30-Oct-21 20:53:39

Judi for the dance off, and who else?

Sara, Dan, Rhys?

Sparklefizz Sat 30-Oct-21 20:52:03

Wow! Wow! Wow!
The standard of dancing was mostly fantastic.

Rose & Giovanni will get my vote, also AJ & Kai and John & Jo.

Felt sorry that Dan had the novelty number tonight plus horrible music (in my view)

Fantastic costumes and makeup, etc. Didn't Shirley look fabulous?

Time for Judi to go home.

TillyTrotter Sat 30-Oct-21 20:46:26

Fantastic costumes, makeup, hair and sets tonight. The Beeb at its best. ? ?

Josianne Sat 30-Oct-21 20:45:58

Doesn't poor Dan look a bit embarrassed clapping with those lobster claws throughout the show?

TillyTrotter Sat 30-Oct-21 20:45:42

AJ, Rose and John will get my votes tonight. They are the power 3 for me.

Mollygo Sat 30-Oct-21 20:36:34

Rose and Giovanni lovely. AJ and Kai good. Interesting that John said taking the lady’s part made his back ache and staying in contact was difficult. Glad he knows how it feels, but it didn’t really affect their performance.

GrannyMacawell Sat 30-Oct-21 20:30:19

They are a lovely pairing as are AJ and Kai

kittylester Sat 30-Oct-21 20:28:49

Agree josianne. Aren't they cute!

Grannmarie Sat 30-Oct-21 20:28:07

40 for Rose and Giovanni , amazing!

Josianne Sat 30-Oct-21 20:25:37

Rose again for me and Giovanni's reaction was so lovely.

GrannyMacawell Sat 30-Oct-21 20:19:06

Yes. bit crowded for the bottom two possibly

Calendargirl Sat 30-Oct-21 20:14:49

A mixed bag so far tonight.

Chardy i was watching the film The Battle Of Britain a couple of weeks ago and noticed how the costumes were fine but the women's hair and make up were resolutely 1960s!

Sparklefizz Thu 28-Oct-21 16:33:35

To be honest I think she would be way behind anyway because the others all upped their game last week.

TillyTrotter Thu 28-Oct-21 13:15:19

There seems to be some doubt about whether Judi will be fit enough to take part on Saturday. If she can’t I read it will mean she will be eliminated from the competition.

Sparklefizz Wed 27-Oct-21 11:31:59

You're right Chardy. The "Mary Quant look" was the 60s, and the professional dance seemed to have a mixture of styles.

Chardy Tue 26-Oct-21 22:00:27

The weekend 1960s professional dance had little 60s feel to me. That backcombed hair was early 60s, when skirts were shockingly on the knee. The tiny skirts and knee boots were much later, when longer hair was poker straight, and short hair was like Twiggy or cut short all over. Or the famous Sassoon asymmetric cut.
I know this is picky, but they don't make mistakes like that with period dramas!!!

Allsorts Tue 26-Oct-21 20:55:24

Very high standard. I don’t do Twitter so it’s a surprise to me.

No, I thought that Tilly Trotter. I think he bowed out with a lot more dignity than some. It was a shame he got the back injury but I wouldn't have liked a better dancer to go.

TillyTrotter Sun 24-Oct-21 20:32:35

Rhys was a shock.
He was going to go through as Ugo did not dance well. A combination of the tricky Rumba, and his back complaint. He didn’t look upset at going did he?
I’m another who is not on Twitter.

kittylester Sun 24-Oct-21 20:24:29

To be fair, I am on Twitter but I don't follow Strictly.

Mollygo Sun 24-Oct-21 20:23:22

I couldn’t understand why Rhys was in the dance off. Probably because people thought he was safe. I do know the result as many on here do-but not from Twitter. However I now only post what I think of the dancers and which ones I like/dislike.
