So, fellow fans, what do we think of the lineup? A very mixed bunch, personally only know of five, I’m sure we will soon have our favourites. Can’t wait for the glitz and glamour to brighten the long dark nights looming?

Come on folks. Why so many catty remarks? This is Gransnet, not Twitter. Let's be kind.

Josianne Sun 03-Oct-21 21:01:40

I don't think Nina was going to last long, whereas Katie might have more to give.

Kim19 Sun 03-Oct-21 21:03:54

Well, I was certainly surprised by that rejection. Shows how much I know!

Sara1954 Sun 03-Oct-21 21:08:39

It was actually quite hard to decide tonight, we all had our money on Katie and Greg in the dance off, and Greg being saved, shows what we know
There is no obvious awful dancer.

Just being truthful, it gets very repetitive, all the gushing and simpering.

Kim19 Sun 03-Oct-21 21:37:01

Well.... I hope I'm always kind, C. Okay if I disagree with the rest of your content?

rafichagran Sun 03-Oct-21 22:08:05

I am glad Greg stayed, I think I would have liked to see Katie go.

annodomini Sun 03-Oct-21 23:13:19

I was sorry to see Nadia go, but I thought that Neil's choreography was misguided. She wasn't experienced enough for those moves that involved waving her leg around which isn't necessary in ballroom tango, though an important feature of Argentine tango.

DanniRae Mon 04-Oct-21 08:51:20

I am sorry to be 'unkind' but although I like Nina I am glad to see Neil go because I just don't enjoy watching him. Amazingly my daughter agrees with me on this {very unusual for us to agree on anything!}

Sparklefizz Mon 04-Oct-21 09:35:37

I feel the same about Neil DanniRae -

Josianne Mon 04-Oct-21 09:41:55

Me too where Neil is concerned.
Though I do think he would be a good same sex partner for Prince Harry.

eazybee Mon 04-Oct-21 09:42:46

I feel the same too about Neil, but I can't explain why.

Several of us don’t seem to have taken to Neil. Is it because of all the fuss when his wife? Katya, had that fling with her partner a year or two ago, or is it that for years he was one of the back up dancers, and seemed to whinge about not being one of the pros?

I also am not keen on the one whose name begins with G., not Giovanni, it’s the one with his long hair either greased back or flying about. Judy’s partner.

Josianne Mon 04-Oct-21 14:04:50

Maybe Calendargirl though I try not to read too much about the dancers' private lives.
It is Neil's dancing that somehow irritates me. He uses a lot of silly facial expressions with a "look at me" type of show and a lot of writhing about!
Yes, Graziano is a bit of a show off too, but he is very energetic and gives 100%.
By the way did Rose's dancer partner Giovanni always do that head rocking when the results were called or is it some kind of sign to Rose as she can't hear?
I like the new blonde girl dancer with Dan and in the professionals' dances. She brings new ideas.

annodomini Mon 04-Oct-21 14:22:33

Wild West routine at the beginning of the Results Show was one of the best ever. The energy of the dancers and precision of the choreography was - as one would expect - highly professional and reminded me of the routines I have seen and enjoyed in Matthew Bourne's productions.

Calendargirl Mon 04-Oct-21 15:02:29

I think Giovanni has always done the head rocking when the results are being called, and he has also always done the three ‘thank yous’ when they get through.

I like to see them thanking the viewers for voting for them, I take note if anyone doesn’t bother ( though I accept in the excitement of their name being called, they sometimes forget).

Calendargirl Mon 04-Oct-21 15:04:31

Re the Wild West routine.

I thought last night how great it would be to see a re-run of the scene from Seven Brides For Seven Brothers, when the dancers back then did the most spectacular, energetic dance routine.

Me too! grin

Millie22 Mon 04-Oct-21 15:39:33

A Seven Brides for Seven Brothers routine would be great. I also can't really take to Neil and actually last night I thought both routines weren't very good so quite hard to decide who should go.

Grannynannywanny Mon 04-Oct-21 15:41:16

Calendargirl I also thought of that wonderful scene from Seven Brides for 7 Brothers on Sunday night.

Grannynannywanny Mon 04-Oct-21 15:46:06

Calendargirl try this …

Sorry ton disagree, but I rather like Neil, hate his new hairstyle though. Can`t stand his ex-wife, Katya. Missing Kevin.

Luckylegs Mon 04-Oct-21 21:09:48

I’m another one who can’t stand Neil. Wherever he is, he always looks directly into the camera in a very weird way, challenging sort of. No one else does this. I’m glad he’s gone but I feel sorry for Nina, if she’d got any of the other professionals, she’d still be in! She’s had two difficult dances with terrible music to dance to and it’s not her fault that Neil put Argentinian moves into a tango.
