Yes - finally. About to start tonight. 7 episodes. This is in my top three of great crime drama series. The Bridge is second with Shetland third.

The phone will be on silent and MrM had better not interrupt my pleasure. I think he's tempted to watch it though.

Jed Mercurio never ceases to come up with a great story line. Series 3 was probably be best so far for me.

SPOILER ALERT: Another cracking episode tonight! The mystery DNA (that was related to Jo Davidson's DNA) that was found at Farida's House - who do you think the relative is? It's a male, but that's all that was given away ?

Not another armed ambush?
The body count is turning into Midsomer Murders.

Alegrias1 Sun 11-Apr-21 22:13:04

Who's Tommy Hunter?

Welshwife Sun 11-Apr-21 22:12:50

We wondered if it was that high ranking woman who is on Hastings back.

Alegrias1 Sun 11-Apr-21 22:11:48

Who is she related to? ?

Littleannie Sun 11-Apr-21 22:09:51

Looked like Kate???

Doodledog Sun 11-Apr-21 22:09:45

It was Jo Davison - we couldn't see the other side of the document.

I'm wondering if she is Tommy Hunter's daughter. . .

Pittcity Sun 11-Apr-21 22:07:23

"Mother of God" who is it in the photo???

Just read an article by Lisa Bachelar in the Observer today about her

Atqui Sun 11-Apr-21 18:04:45

Oh no! That is so sad. I really enjoyed her blogs.I think she had a large following. Poor children .

That’s a nice thought Litter think I’ll join you

I was just about to post about Sarah Hughes death when I saw there is a post up. I think I may have read her November article about her cancer but didn’t remember the name so didn’t realise she was writer of the tv recap. There is a moving tribute by Kate Abbott, the Guardian tv editor. Sarah had written this week’s recap from her hospital bed and must have died less than 48 hours later. I must post to the Comments - it will be a comfort to her family and friends to know how many appreciated her wit, insight and fine writing.

That's so sad.

suziewoozie Tue 06-Apr-21 19:14:19

Did you see that the Guardian are keeping open the comments under her last article so fans can go on and continue to discuss the rest of the series? Her children are only 13 and 11

Farmor15 Tue 06-Apr-21 19:02:10

Suziewoozie Yes, I saw Sarah Hughes had died - I was very surprised as I didn't realise she'd been ill. I loved her TV blogs for some of the good dramas and will really miss her.

Sarah Hughes in the Guardian does a great summary and analysis for those who might be a bit confused (including me!)

I find reading it adds to my enjoyment of the series and the comments by other readers are also entertaining!

Just read that Sarah Hughes died ( cancer) the day after this was published. I’d enjoyed reading it and looked forward to more. ?

Yes, very sad to read that Sarah Hughes has just died - so young. Very talented. What a shame.

Tanith -the only places I’ve seen with so many locks inside have been a) safe houses for women fleeing domestic abuse or b) drug dealers. I don’t think Jo D is either of those. I do think she’s bent

Oh forgot I meant to ask what anyone makes of all those locks on Davidson’s flat? It’s a very posh flat by the way for a DI.

tanith Tue 06-Apr-21 11:56:48

muse it was her I did mention it in a previous post. I’m going to watch it again there was too much to take in in one sitting.

muse Tue 06-Apr-21 11:50:38

Caught up with 3 last night. Brilliant. Watched it without MrM this week. He's new to the LoD and asks so many questions so will watch it again with him. The hour just flew by.

Buckells is too soft to be bent wink. Pretty sure that warden that broke the WPCs wrist was the one that poured scolding hot water over Lindsay Denton's hand.

lovebeigecardigans1955 Tue 06-Apr-21 11:37:10

I'm on tenterhooks wondering what's going to happen next. With Buckells being questioned, that horrid little squirt Pilkington being rumbled by Kate and Steve, and the young WPC with her broken wrist - just how far do the tentacles of the OCG and bent coppers reach?
We're only on episode 3!

tanith Mon 05-Apr-21 16:29:51

That would be PC Simon Banerjee who met Ryan when he and his mates were harassing an elderly man on their estate. He did seem genuinely a good guy but you never can tell with LOD.

Eloethan Mon 05-Apr-21 16:22:23

I was wondering who it was that reportedly "mentored" Ryan. He/she didn't do a very good job - or perhaps he/she did !
