Yes - finally. About to start tonight. 7 episodes. This is in my top three of great crime drama series. The Bridge is second with Shetland third.

The phone will be on silent and MrM had better not interrupt my pleasure. I think he's tempted to watch it though.

Jed Mercurio never ceases to come up with a great story line. Series 3 was probably be best so far for me.

I was thinking it was later in the episode (definitely the first one though). It was after she told Farida she didn’t have a family, and went to the flat with the hugely impressive array of locks and bolts.

Suziewoozie : yes it was right at the beginning of episode 1.

Ro60 Mon 12-Apr-21 12:32:18

WW2/Jaxjacky - or window - as I've seen done. Patio door should
do it. ?

I think it was the first time we saw Jo in her flat so episode 1 or 2

Thank you - have nothing better to do today ( that I want to do) so off I go

What about the person on the photo in the wine glass throwing incident being Ryan’s late neglectful mum, and - da da - the sister of Jo?

Please what scene was this - which episode ?

Callistemon Mon 12-Apr-21 11:25:05

Aunty Jo?

Lucca

The way he said “Jo” with gun to her head ....Jo, not Mum.

He had a Mum who was hopeless and neglected him - surely there is some connection though other than the OCG?

Jaxjacky

WW2 we need a big white board with post-its and bits of coloured string!
It really is such a good programme, love it.

Yes please! grin
But this thread is good at filling in missing bits and reminders of who's who

Nigel retired, I do remember that

suziewoozie Mon 12-Apr-21 09:58:32

Atqui when did she throw the glass at the photo please? I’m still obsessed by her ?

Maggiemaybe Mon 12-Apr-21 09:42:12

Atqui

Thought the photo was of the second DNA owner. Ryan? The deputy chief constable?
She threw a wine glass at a picture of her mother.

I thought the other woman looked more the age of a sister than a mother?

Because of the way Steve confirmed at the interview (I love an LOD interview!) that Lakewell hadn’t told him anything, we can be sure that he did, can’t we?

And what about the female officer who gave Josie a leg up to the top of the van because she couldn’t climb up herself. That was convenient. hmm

I must say I’d never heard of Josie (or was it Jonesy) till then. Did I miss something?

tanith Mon 12-Apr-21 09:31:16

Yes you’re right Pittcity I’m off for a walk in the snow flurry and I’ll be listening to the ‘mad about LOD’ podcast on BBC sounds as I go.

Pittcity Mon 12-Apr-21 08:42:10

I believe they are both alive Whitewave
Dryden serving a suspended sentence and Morton retired.

Dryden is Scottish???

Other theories include Nigel Morton. Neil Morrissey was rumoured to be making a reappearance in this series.

I thought that character was dead?

Might start from episode 1 again and get my chart started???.

It is such good writing though because if it does link to the past the writer must have had a massive plan, right from the beginning.

My first thought was Ryan

Pittcity Mon 12-Apr-21 08:20:35

...and is it the end of Hastings and AC12?

TommyHunter was series 1 and 2 he was the OCG boss who blackmailed Tony Gates and recruited ‘Dot’ Matthew Cotton, Tommy was killed by a copper who was also OCG.

Thanks for that tanith. But if she is related to Tommy Hunter or any other dead person, how could that be a reason for Jo to be blackmailed into acting for the OCG? They are dead, so she would have no need to protect them; and a police officer being related to a criminal is not against the law. Surely Jo's relation is/was still alive (could it be Lakewell, Jo being blackmailed to ensure he was kept safe in prison?) So confusing!

Am I the only one to think that Chris Lomax, (think that’s his surname) sounds uncannily like ‘The Caddy’ when he speaks?

Whitewavemark2 Mon 12-Apr-21 07:03:36

My vote is for Hunter.

Just read somewhere that in one if the earlier series Buckles was seen playing golf with Hunter. Can anyone remember that?

I’m lucky to remember from week to week.

What I need is a time chart and one linking all the characters.

I think last night was one of the very best episodes.
