Yes - finally. About to start tonight. 7 episodes. This is in my top three of great crime drama series. The Bridge is second with Shetland third.

The phone will be on silent and MrM had better not interrupt my pleasure. I think he's tempted to watch it though.

Jed Mercurio never ceases to come up with a great story line. Series 3 was probably be best so far for me.

This will help your brain get a grip of what's been going on!
Makes you realise how complex it all is.

Just same!

I posted and got logged out - sinister goings on!

Ryan is a very goodlooking young man and would be an excellent romantic lead - but would anyone be understandably nervous if he asked them for a date?

Amberone Thu 15-Apr-21 20:00:39

I've just realised who Ryan reminds me of - Robert Patrick in Terminator 2

Iam64 Thu 15-Apr-21 19:52:45

Yes silverlining, his childhood is typical of men who go on to develop psychopathic anti social emotionally unstable personalities
The miracle is other boys (and girls) who survive and manage to live lives that don’t damage others

silverlining48 Thu 15-Apr-21 19:00:29

In a previous life I used to do social enquiry reports on people on remand awaiting trial and I am sure if we look back at Ryan’s early years we would find family dysfunction, lack of attachment, and deprivation.......but putting all that aside, yes he was a creepy child on his bike and has not changed much as an adult. He is a good actor. Looking forward to Sunday night.

Iam64 Thu 15-Apr-21 18:20:30

Ryan seems to be your classic psychopath, acting normal and hiding in plain sight.

Chestnut Thu 15-Apr-21 15:35:15

I agree about Ryan - he is one cold, nasty piece of work. Makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck - a really great baddie.
Ryan has creeped me out ever since he appeared on his bike in Series 1. A nasty little scumbag he was then, and went on to be a real horror, so eager to cut Arnott's finger off. Since then he has murdered without hesitation, and proved he is pure evil through and through.

Once Hastings is retired I,'d like to see a spin off featuring him as an independent defender of honesty and truth in public office.

It could be entitled ‘ The Battles of Hastings’

?

??

I've been creased up reading this thread - OH can't believe I'm getting so worked up about a TV series ?

I've turned all the options over and over in my head, losing sleep in the process, and then it hit me. It's obvious really, H is Thomas 'Herc' Hauk from The Wire.

Well why not? We've had stranger twists in LoD!

Chestnut Tue 13-Apr-21 11:58:09

Calendargirl ??
But he'd have to find another catch phrase apart from 'I'm interested in one thing, and one thing only, and that's bent coppers'.

I’m surprised Buckles ever got past being a basic PC. He has never seemed to know what he’s doing.

Chestnut Mon 12-Apr-21 23:43:38

I've just watched it a day late. There is no way Hastings, Arnott or Kate are bent coppers. I just can't accept that.
Buckle is just too wet to be anything more than 'on the payroll'. He is being controlled.
Jo Davidson is bent but not through choice, she is reluctantly being controlled as was Gates in Series 1.
Ryan has been a full-blood member of OCG through and through since childhood!
Jo Davidson's DNA relative is....no idea.

Just watched the latest episode this evening. It just gets better and better!

My weekly hit of LOD is now Monday morning. By myself! Can't cope with MrM asking questions.

Also listened to podcast tonight with Neil Morrissey interviewed. Gave little away but don't think he's coming back.

I've never known an hour go so quickly. Ep6 was edge of seat stuff. Brilliant. Had to freeze picture to see photo - definitely Jo. Who's she messaging on her laptop?

Think Buckles was a plant but being used.

Poor Steve's got his drug test appointment looming.

Wondered why the female armed officer was fatally wounded when she was wearing a helmet and presumably a bullet proof vest?

Atqui Mon 12-Apr-21 21:39:22

I hope Chloe isn’t the one who leaked the info , I like her
