Can't believe how old Rupert Penry Jones looks. I've just been watching reruns of Spooks where he is a real heart throb. Such a shock to see him as he is now - though I suppose it comes to us all.
Annoyed by the plot too - especially the school bit - totally unrealistic.
What I can't get my head round is the extended family. Why are her ex and his new wife so close with the rest of her family when she is the outsider? Strange.

I have enjoyed it so far but agree that it is a fairly unrealistic plot - especially the teaching bit.

I'm wondering if their son Tom was adopted by them. He looks more like the supposedly dead mother in the photograph with Rupert Penry Jones.

On the other hand, if it definitely is their son, surely the father would recognise him too?

Well the toothbrush should tell us !

I've just watched it - as her husband is an adulterer, who else has he had a fling with? Would explain the resemblance.

“I’ll cook you something to eat, and put a wash on”.

Nothing like getting your feet under the table.

I’m going to stick my neck out.

I think he won’t be her son, and she’ll end up with Rupert Penry Jones, the creepy dad.

That's true, but he is up to something!

Lillie

I agree it is unrealistic, but it could be worse.
Is the boy's current father going to try to do away with her tonight?

Well, there’s two more episodes and she’s the main character, so I doubt if she will be bumped off before Thursday.

Gave it a go as usually quite enjoy a drama, but found it rather implausible.

It is quite unreal in so many ways, but will stick to it to see what happens.
When I have needed a DBS, the employers have requested it and then they received a copy and so did I. There would be no point to it if it could be forged.

Also you can not walk into any school like that in my experience, not since Dunblane and homeland terrorism.

What it is with batty women, she would get on well with Alice!

BlueBelle Tue 02-Feb-21 15:45:14

I watched it It showed promised but I agree with the above comments she wouldn’t have got a job just like that and her whole ‘stalking’ was fairly unrealistic

I thought the story was unbelievable and very drawn out. That said, I'm intrigued and want to know what is and has been going on. It's set to record.

I also did not recognise her- I am not sure if I have seen her since Strictly.

Interviews have rather changed methinks!

I will not be able to watch it tonight or tomorrow because I will be watching Marcella tonight and The Bay tomorrow. I have no means of watching it anywhere else.

At present the jury is out.

Calendargirl Tue 02-Feb-21 12:55:23

Yes, I watched it. Don’t know what I think to it really. I agree about how easily she got the job in the school.

Think it will turn out a bit of a damp squib eventually.

Georgesgran Tue 02-Feb-21 12:53:31

Did anyone see the first of the 4 episodes last night? I’ll stick with it, but I’m sure the main character wouldn’t get a job in a school quite so easily! I haven’t seen any spoilers, so waiting to see if she’s right or mistaken.
I must say I hardly recognized Jill Halfpenny - a while since she’s been in tv. She voices both Sky and Argos ads in her usual NE accent, but has dropped it for this role.
