No not the most handsome man ever that's Rufus Sewell but Thornbirds was very good although how she couldn't see he was a gay priest I dont know.

It took me ages to convince my friend Richard Chamberlain is gay. She just wouldn’t have it!

I think Christopher Reeve was very good looking (not in his Superman pants). Such a sad ending, for what seemed a lovely man.

I loved the book of The Thorn Birds. It was a good holiday read when I was in Cornwall one year. Also another book by the same author: can’t remember what it was called but it had a character called Missy. I used to read much heavier books back then so I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it.

Loved the Thorn Birds but not Richard Chamberlain. I agree with Lucca not right for the part at all!

Loved him in the Thorn Birds and also in Shogun. He was always so dashing and handsome in those swashbuckling parts. But the prize for the most beautiful man ever to walk the earth has to go jointly to Paul Newman and Elvis!

Loved Richard Chamberlain in The Thorn Birds. I was surprised when I found out he was gay, but that’s the way things go sometimes.

I was a weekly boarder and the highlight of my week was returning home to watch Richard Chamberlain as Dr Kildare on friday nights. I had him plastered over my bedroom walls and had all the RC magazines. Some time later a friend sat behind him and his partner in a London theatre. I was devastated. Gone were my hopes for marriage to my heart throb ??

He was on my wall (see other thread ) when he played Dr Kildare.

I’m pretty sure he took time out from his tv stuff to work at Birmingham Rep to improve his acting skills. I also think that I saw him in the street in Brum too, but it might be my memory playing tricks....

Ooh yes young Elvis was gorgeous but he didn't age very well, unlike the others mentioned.

Vickysponge I’m watching it on Bflix, which is a free, legal site. You can get the link on Google. I’ve seen the episodes come on with no sound, and when you click for sound, an ad pops up, but it’s easy enough just to shut the ad down and do it again.

Handsome yes but in my view totally miscast as Ralph de Bricassart, who I visualised as dark and brooding!!

I seem to recall when watching the Thornbirds that I was a bit surprised that he had short legs, out of proportion with his body..

Most of my class at school was in love with him because they all watched Dr Kildare; we didn't have a TV so I didn't join the fan club

Browsing Bflix after watching The Duchess of Duke Street, I found The Thorn Birds.
Was not Richard Chamberlain the most handsome man ever?
I loved him in Dr.Kildare too, and was delighted to read that he is also a very nice man.
Still alive and kicking at 86.

Oh yes, such a dreamboat. I’d love to watch the Thorn Birds again. Wonderful stuff.
