What a lovely programme. Escapism really. I forgot all the current troubles watching him in all those fascinating places. What a nice man he seems. He gets on with people all over the place.

I agree he seems a nice man and I have seen the world watching all Michael's travel shows. I have most of them on dvd - but not always in house as my adult children love to borrow them!
My most favourite bit in any of his shows happens in "Around the World..........." when he travels on a dhow (boat). Magic viewing smile

It was so relaxing watching him. I also managed to 'escape' for that time. I loved it when the Dalai Lama said he recognised him from the BBC!

What a lovely programme. I could watch Michael Palin's travels over and over. The scenery in the Himalaya is spectacular. I would love to have gone and seen that magnificent panorama when he was in Tibet.
