Is on channel 5. smile
It looks like a collection of her work from the early years to her later ones.

Dinner Ladies was great.

EllanVannin Sun 20-Dec-20 22:54:35

So sad. We'll never see her like again.

MissAdventure Sun 20-Dec-20 22:54:23

It was an awful shock, but then she was a private person.

She left a legacy of classic lines though... "spank me on the bottom with a woman's weekly". smile

Urmstongran Sun 20-Dec-20 22:50:23

She was only 62y when she died. RIP lovely lady.
She had a sad, lonely childhood. She once said ‘I feel sorry for that little girl, looking back’.

MissAdventure Sun 20-Dec-20 22:48:06

I haven't seen that, either.
I have lots to look forward to, I think.

EllanVannin Sun 20-Dec-20 22:43:28

I remember Housewife 49. Brilliant acting.

Grannynannywanny Sun 20-Dec-20 22:32:31

Thanks for the reminder. I’ve just caught it starting on channel 5+1

Urmstongran Sun 20-Dec-20 22:31:11

I love Anne Reid in it ... ‘an orgasm? I’ve not had chance to even blow my nose since Wednesday!’ With the young Maxine Peake straight out of drama school. Such talent!

MissAdventure Sun 20-Dec-20 22:26:54

I've never seen a single episode of Dinner Ladies, and I can't imagine why not.

I must watch them all.

MiniMoon Sun 20-Dec-20 22:25:09

I recently watched all the episodes of Dinner Ladies again on Netflix.
I was sitting in a tearoom in Harrogate (no, not that one), when the news of Victoria Wood's death was announced. I remember exactly where I was as it was such a shock.

EllanVannin Sun 20-Dec-20 22:21:21

I'm still laughing at Julie Walters's cutting remark.

MissAdventure Sun 20-Dec-20 22:20:36

I came sixth in the worlds greatest bottom poll. smile

Julie Walters is a great actress.

MissAdventure Sun 20-Dec-20 22:17:28

Oh, Pat and Margaret.
That was a great film.

What a treat this programme is.

EllanVannin Sun 20-Dec-20 22:16:48

Genius. Aw, the film Pat and Margaret.

Urmstongran Sun 20-Dec-20 22:16:25

Yay! Just fabulous!
?

MissAdventure Sun 20-Dec-20 22:15:16

Bend me over backwards on me hostess trolley!

EllanVannin Sun 20-Dec-20 22:13:39

Here you are Urmston. Freda and Barry.

Jane10 Sun 20-Dec-20 22:13:38

I enjoyed that musical drama she wrote with Michael Ball and (I think) Imelda Staunton in it.

Ashcombe Sun 20-Dec-20 22:09:11

Me too! Such a talent for writing and casting!

EllanVannin Sun 20-Dec-20 22:07:00

I'm loving this.

MissAdventure Sun 20-Dec-20 22:06:34

grin

Urmstongran Sun 20-Dec-20 22:04:15

You got your 2 soups MissA! Hilarious. All that tomato soup sloshing about in those shallow soup bowls ...

MissAdventure Sun 20-Dec-20 21:49:01

Oh yes!
My daughter and I loved that song. smile

Urmstongran Sun 20-Dec-20 21:47:05

I’m watching it too. Julie Walters + Victoria Wood = brilliant.

I hope we hear a bit of the song ‘slap me on the bottom with a Woman’s Weekly’. Frenetic piano playing. ‘Let’s Do It’!

Jane10 Sun 20-Dec-20 21:45:55

She's on again in special compilation programmes at Christmas. I really liked her. I wonder if she ever really knew how much the public thought of her.
