At least I won't have to hear once again!!! what an emotional/ personal growth journey Ranvir has been on.
She always looked like a spare whotsit at a wedding when she let go of Gio.

Ellianne Sat 19-Dec-20 08:01:50

Looking forward to the Strictly final tonight! I believe they have 3 dances to perform, so I'm guessing at least one will be a previous one of their choice. I would like Maisie to win, but I think it will be Hrvy. He is very good too.

ginny Sat 19-Dec-20 08:09:36

Looking forward for the watching. Hrvy or Maisie to win, don’t mind which.

Puzzler61 Sat 19-Dec-20 08:16:13

I’ll be glued to it and looking forward to a great show of entertaining dancing.
I’ve championed Maisie from the start but I don’t think she’ll win.
I don’t really mind who is voted the 2020 champion.
Remember it starts at 6 o’clock - quite early ? ?
Enjoy it everyone.

I wonder if Bill Bailey will be picked because of the tight competition of the other two which will make things very difficult for the judges ? There can't be two winners.

Puzzler61 Sat 19-Dec-20 08:19:34

It is only the public who vote in the final tonight EV.
Judges just give encouragement and comments.

Does it sound waspish if I say I was shocked this morning to read that Bill Bailey is “only” 55?
The way he is treated as a geriatric National Treasure plus, frankly, the hair, had led me to believe he was much older!

Ellianne Sat 19-Dec-20 08:26:39

I'm sure I read somewhere that the Duchess of Cornwall is on the show via videolink or something.

Puzzler61 Sat 19-Dec-20 08:32:25

Robbie Williams is the guest performer I heard yesterday.

TwiceAsNice Sat 19-Dec-20 09:01:17

As long as Bill doesn’t win ( that would be a travesty) I really don’t mind who does although I find it hard to pick between Maisie and HRVY

Yes, I thought he was at least in his mid 60s. I can't stand that silly hair.

Yes, I understand Camilla will appear via videolink.

I am really looking forward to it. Remember it will be starting early at 6pm. I don't mind whether HRVY or Maisie win - both very good dancers - as long as it's not Jamie or Bill, which would be a complete travesty.

Oh!

I thought he was about my age (70+) so when I called him Twinkletoes it was with the utmost admiration ?‍♂️

Ellianne Sat 19-Dec-20 10:40:06

I have to say I do actually like all their professional partners too this year. Their choreography is good.

Beauregard Sat 19-Dec-20 11:19:44

I really want HRVY to win, especially for Janette, but Maisie would also be a worthy winner. Definitely not Bill, although DH tells me that he is the favourite! Surely not ?.

Calendargirl Sat 19-Dec-20 12:19:59

Well, I definitely don’t want to see Bill Bailey win.

Anyone but him!

Charleygirl5 Sat 19-Dec-20 12:47:19

I do not want Jamie or Harvey to win- I do not like either of them. I doubt if Bill will win- 3 dances surely at that level would be too much for him?

I would be happy to see Maisie win now that Ranvir, my favourite, has left.

Please not Jamie!!

Millie22 Sat 19-Dec-20 12:52:01

I agree Ranvir was my favourite too. Hrvy will win I'm sure.

Casdon Sat 19-Dec-20 13:00:41

I think Bill is remarkable for 55, I don’t understand why some of you think what he’s achieved isn’t - he’s done far better than any other man of his age ever on Strictly that I can remember - do you know men who are fitter or potentially better at dancing at the standard he is doing at that age, is it just me who doesn’t?

I don’t rate Maisie, I hope she doesn’t win, So my money is on Hrvy, he’s a lovely dancer, and it would also be so deserved for Janette if they pull it off.

ginny Sat 19-Dec-20 13:23:13

I hope people remember it is advance contest . Not a contest to see who they would like to have dinner with.

ginny Sat 19-Dec-20 13:23:38

Dance not advance !!!

Casdon Sat 19-Dec-20 13:27:31

That’s a really odd comment Ginny, what do you mean- aren’t we talking about the dancing?

Ellianne Sat 19-Dec-20 13:49:58

I think Pierce Bronson and Colin Firth made a pretty good attempt at singing and dancing in Mama Mia (2) * Casdon*. They must have been in their 50s at the time!
For me Bill was a surprise at the beginning, but I feel he has plateaued and is now a bit samey samey.

Ellianne Sat 19-Dec-20 13:50:34

Ooh and Liam Neeson.

Kim19 Sat 19-Dec-20 14:00:09

Fingers crossed for Harvey here. He's warmed my cockles with his enthusiasm and positive attitude in one so young and already an achiever. Did see AL Webber mention him on a chat show (Graham Norton?) so his future is well earmarked. My admiration is for Janette who has spotted and stretched his talent. Her choreography, enthusiasm, energy and encouragement are beyond reproach and I already consider her the winner. I'll use my phone to put money where my mouth is tonight. In general, I agree that this has not been the most inspiring of Strictlies but I'm impressed with what they've all managed and been prepared to sacrifice against the odds. Certainly made my Saturday evenings enjoyable.

NotAGran55 Sat 19-Dec-20 14:10:34

It’s a popularity contest now so anything is possible .

I recently listened to a Craig RH autobiography and he said that in his opinion there should have been different winners in the years that Joe McFadden and Caroline Flack won , but the general public thought otherwise.
