Anyone else watching the above? I know its trash tv, but I look forward to it every year. My husband cant bear to be in the same room while I’m watching it!

He is broke apparently

MissAdventure Sat 28-Nov-20 13:55:20

I saw Shane Richie in pantomime a few years back, and took an instant dislike to him. A really strong feeling, it was.

I've no idea why, and I'm not prone to such things, but it was almost palpable.

So, I'm finding them all a bit wishy washy, apart from not wanting Shane to win.

Sophiasnana Sat 28-Nov-20 21:13:16

Watching this right now. Actually cannot stand the sound of Shane Richies voice. He absolutely LOVES talking about himself. How much he earns, what a huge celeb he is. ‘I was Mr Saturday night’!! When was that then. I must have missed it!
Hope he’s out next.

I suggest you all read the RSPCA's take on this awful programme:
Search for: Camp cruelty: stop the use of live creatures on ITV's show

Oh Mo!
Wales in Scotland, then in Ireland!
The castle he is in is even in Wales!

Jane10 Mon 30-Nov-20 22:32:13

Russell's trial was fun to watch (poor man though) and no creatures harmed except him.
Interesting that so many of them think Shane is going to win. They must like him despite seeing him 24 hours a day. We're just seeing the bits where he's annoying. Wonder why?!

Ellianne Mon 30-Nov-20 22:36:17

Theres only 2 women left. That's strange they're all being voted off?

Anniebach Mon 30-Nov-20 22:38:20

Because they think he will win doesn’t mean they like him ,
Expect itv want him to win, it is being said there are offers waiting for him

Jane10 Mon 30-Nov-20 22:41:15

The men are in general more entertaining this year. AJ is pretty boring though.

Anniebach Mon 30-Nov-20 22:47:14

Looking on line The Sun had a poll, Jordon way ahead ,
Russell the least number of votes

DanniRae Tue 01-Dec-20 08:28:53

I really hope Jordan wins and not Shane - I am not keen on him. Too full of himself.
Unfortunately I can't vote because I watch it in the morning. I am too sleepy to enjoy it in the evening confused

Grannynannywanny Tue 01-Dec-20 09:05:33

I read that AJ’s grandmother has died in recent days but he won’t be given the news till he comes out. They had a family discussion before the start of the show and agreed if she died that he wouldn’t be told the news.

Jane10 Tue 01-Dec-20 09:57:40

I'd like Jordan to win. Russell's nice too and so is Vernon.
Giovanna is too goody goody.

Kate1949 Tue 01-Dec-20 10:04:27

I agree Jane I find Giovanna very irritating. I'm glad Victoria had gone. All that rushing to hug everyone.

Wasn't there a moment where he went quiet and left the room? It was after the letters from home when he didn't get one. I was wondering if it suddenly hit him?
He seems a good person.

Grannynannywanny Tue 01-Dec-20 10:30:53

I was sorry to see Bev and Victoria leave. I liked them both. I would like Russell to win. He’s pleasant, down to earth and entertaining. He’s not boasting about who he has socialised with in the course of his career although I’m sure there are plenty of high profile figures.

Whereas the self named “Mr Saturday Night TV” has been dining out on the same old boring tales for years. Shane’s cogs were whirring round wondering how he could beat Vernon’s tale of a dinner party at Chequers with the Blairs.

Lucretzia Tue 01-Dec-20 10:33:58

I was thrilled that Victoria went. I found her to be hugely annoying. And she never shut up. Endless wittering about absolutely nothing.

I think Jordan will win. I hope so anyhow.

It's a bit tedious this year.

Not enough aggro!

Jane10 Tue 01-Dec-20 10:36:10

I wonder why so many Grans have it in for Shane? He's an entertainment showman. It's his job and his personality. If he hadn't been there to jolly things along this year it would have been a disastrous hug-in by all the wet luvvies.
Some of Shane's best bits have been quiet ones especially with Jordan who seems to enjoy his company.

Grannynannywanny Tue 01-Dec-20 10:39:54

The phantom toilet sprinkler topic could be the first proper row amongst them. It’s been simmering for a couple of days.

Anniebach Tue 01-Dec-20 10:52:54

Not only Grans Jane10, my granddaughters don’t like Shane,

EllanVannin Tue 01-Dec-20 11:42:36

It hasn't got the same atmosphere at all and the cast don't make it any better. I only like Russell.

I enjoyed the one with Lady Colin Campbell---nothing fazed her at all and she just got on with everything.

Jane10 Tue 01-Dec-20 12:06:02

The producers always have to include at least one 'marmite' character. The arguments and upsets are 'TV gold'. Lady C was awful and her sections always dominated what was actually shown.
With so many advert breaks we actually only see a tiny amount of what goes on and thats carefully chosen.
Cynical? Moi?

Grannynannywanny Tue 01-Dec-20 12:27:36

I agree Jane10. It’s all painstakingly edited to show what’s likely to attract the viewers. Lady C was a horror but her behaviour did get her plenty of airtime.

MissAdventure Tue 01-Dec-20 12:30:15

I've lost interest and stopped watching.

Anniebach Tue 01-Dec-20 12:33:30

I like the clips of the insects talking, love the ‘what is the weather like in Wales in the summer ? - the rain is warmer
