Well we traditionally have a thread - so I am starting one.

All mothers of contestants are strictly (!!!) barred!

I'm rooting for JJ Chalmers! (I hope that's his name)

I am probably the only person who dosn’t know how they manage to do this show as you aren’t supposed to be so close to others. Was it recorded before any lockdowns? We usually watch bits of it and DH keeps asking me how they have done it and I just don’t know. Could some kind person please enlighten me.

This was explained throughout the show. Every possible safety precaution was taken, they all went into quarantine beforehand, leaving behind partners and families, etc etc. I can't detail it all here but trust me, it was all extremely carefully dealt with and filmed.

Too much gushing over each other.

A lot of it is fake.
Poor old Anton always gets the plodding pony.

But apart from that, it’s a pleasure to watch.

Thanks Tooyoung found him on YouTube with your help. ??

Like his voice, just his mannerisms aren’t to my liking. I don’t think he would be very enamoured with me either.

same sex partners on strictly, thoughts ???

Ellianne Sun 18-Oct-20 16:50:20

So if the celebrities are in a bubble with their professional partner all day long and not doing their day jobs at the same time, does this mean their standard of dancing will be better than that of past competitors?

Of no great importance to me. It's the dancing and routines that count.

axxliz Sun 18-Oct-20 17:11:31

Haven't heard of most of the contestants but they all seemed very nice. I have always liked Caroline Quentin in everything that I have seen her in, so I am looking forward to watching her, but my one to watch at this moment is Bill Bailey who is one of my favourite people.

Good wishes to all involved. xx

Same sex partners on Strictly, thoughts???

I went to an all girls school in the 60’s so that was my first introduction to the St Bernard waltz etc. Unfortunately as I was slightly taller than my friend for those 5 years I always had to lead!
Katya is a great choreographer and dancer and I’m looking forward to seeing their dance routines.

aggie Sun 18-Oct-20 17:23:24

Girls/women have always danced together , just decide who is leading

Can't stand Strictly Come Dancing I was hoping it would be axed for good, it's a load of RUBBISH!!

Ellie Anne Sun 18-Oct-20 17:38:44

I quite enjoy the dancing but can’t stand the contrived silliness between tess and Claudia.

I guess you won't be contributing to this thread again then.

Millie22 Sun 18-Oct-20 18:11:10

It's definitely not a load of rubbish. We all need a bit of light entertainment atm.

Calendargirl Sun 18-Oct-20 18:25:46

Come Dancing had many presenters, but Peter West did it for a long time, also Angela Rippon.

joannapiano Sun 18-Oct-20 18:35:59

Well,Strictly lifted my spirits for a couple of hours yesterday, which is a good thing. I love Johannes, such a talented dancer. Lucky Caroline Quentin.
I used to love the frocks on Come Dancing.

annodomini Sun 18-Oct-20 18:36:38

What I want to know is: Where's Kevin? I looked for him in the group numbers but couldn't see him!

brownbunny17 Sun 18-Oct-20 18:41:15

That's what we asked too !!

Grannynannywanny Sun 18-Oct-20 18:48:58

I think I read a good while back Kevin had left the show

Daisymae Sun 18-Oct-20 18:56:31

Same sex partners doesn't bother me in the slightest. I really think that a lot of people are pleased to have this escapism. I don't really understand why people come on here just to rubbish a well loved program. Each to his own surely, it's easy to avoid.

WOODMOUSE49 Sun 18-Oct-20 18:59:18

Kevin left because he had the opportunity to star in a stage adaptation of Australian dance film Strictly Ballroom.

QuickFire9 Sun 18-Oct-20 20:23:20

This is the strangest Strictly ever. I was so looking forward to it but all the talk of Covid and how they have to isolate and the mask wearing audience behind
made me even more aware of the virus and how it’s affected our lives. I will of course try and put this out if my mind starting on Saturday night when the contestants start dancing. I pray this time next year will be watching it as normal again.

AllotmentLil Sun 18-Oct-20 22:12:26

I know very few of the celebs but was pleasantly surprised by most of them. There were irritating things about the show - like most other shows - but on the whole I enjoyed it more than I thought I would and I will definitely keep watching.
I love Claudia! Also Zoe Ball and hope that if there is a It Takes Two she will be on every evening. On her own ...

Tedd1 Sun 18-Oct-20 22:54:41

I love the live Band too!

DanniRae Mon 19-Oct-20 07:58:46

Just found out "It Takes Two" is back Monday 26 October on BBC2 - with Zoe and Rylan smile

GrannyGravy13 Mon 19-Oct-20 08:17:16

Oh that’s good DanniRae I enjoy It Takes Two whilst I am preparing dinner.
