I was surprised to see how well Bill Bailey danced. I was expecting him to be the joker on the dance floor. I think he’ll do well with Oti.

Against my better judgement I watched SCD tonight (well most of it).

I love the dancing.
I can’t bear the 2 presenters
I hate the false Lovie dovey stuff
I thought Caroline Q’s hair was good.
JJ for me too. I loved his lilac satin suit

After seeing them all dance at the end I think Janette/Hrvy, Clara/Aljaz and possibly Jason/Luba stood out the most for me.

In the group dance with the celebs I like the look of Gorka Marquez and his celeb Maisie Smith.

I don't think Caroline Quentin is going to last very long.

I'm of the same opinion, Ellianne. Nicola is so pleasant it's a breath of fresh air.

I like Max.

By tonight's performance it's the two young boys or Nicola for me.

Come Dancing was a TV show that I sort of dipped in and out of. It ran for almost 50 years and didn't include celebrities. The addition of the word Strictly came about from Baz Luhrmann's enjoyable send up film of the dance world, "Strictly Ballroom."

Watching the first Strictly, I quickly learned what was meant by reality TV and that this new, so called, dance show was actually more of a beauty parade.

The winner, a woman name of Kapinsky or maybe Klapinski, only had to beat a young actor who was well known to East Enders fans. She didn't exactly have an uphill task. His version of a foxtrot was to run up the ballroom floor in a cape, reminiscent of a superhero, with the word "Foxy" emblazoned on it.

It was the first and last time I have watched Strictly, with one exception. The following year an actress won, Jill something or other, my wife recorded the final. Jill's jive, was excellent.

I do hope that you all enjoy the show, lockdown or not, I won't be joining you. Come the all clear and we will be where have been most Saturday nights for the last sixty years. Out on the ballroom floor.

I can't watch it, I'm afraid. It's not that I wouldn't enjoy the dancing; I would, but the garish sets give me a headache. The set for Pointless is about my limit.
