Well we traditionally have a thread - so I am starting one.

All mothers of contestants are strictly (!!!) barred!

I'm rooting for JJ Chalmers! (I hope that's his name)

Ellianne Sat 28-Nov-20 18:29:16

I rather like Clara's dancing. When she is good, she is very very good.
Please don't anyone tell me there are articles about her saying she has been subjected to racist comments or bullying just so she can garner votes.

Ellianne Sat 28-Nov-20 18:25:12

Oh no Sparklefizz! Why does it have to go to their heads? He would have gained more respect not mentioning it. We could all look him up online and read about his injuries anyway if we wanted.
He isn't a good dancer full stop.

Sparklefizz Sat 28-Nov-20 17:55:09

I am disappointed in JJ today. There is a whole one-page article about him in The Times Weekend Supplement saying that he doesn't want the sympathy vote on Strictly, then details all his injuries, how he envies some of the moves the other dancers can do, and going into detail about his friendship with Prince Harry.

I feel he's chasing votes and he won't be getting mine.

Because I didn't watch Caroline's dance properly on Saturday night - my daughter and I were chatting - I watched it on youtube later. It was definitely cringeworthy (great word *TwiceAs Nice*) apart from the licking shock her facial expressions were just awful and the whole thing was frankly disgusting!

TwiceAsNice Tue 24-Nov-20 18:45:21

So glad to see Caroline gone. Her horrible antics with Johannes were cringeworthy and the licking was just horrendous. Poor man having to put up with that! Next week I’ll enjoy it much more without her she was SO irritating and full of herself.

Ellianne Tue 24-Nov-20 16:07:22

Red heads rule! grin

Ellianne Tue 24-Nov-20 16:07:01

Now if they got Ed Sheeran to sing, Mary Portas to present, Anne Robinson and Chris Evans to judge, Maisie dancing with Neil would stand a good chance!

Sparklefizz Tue 24-Nov-20 15:57:18

Aargh! I am going to miss Strictly this Saturday as my dentist wants to see me on Zoom on Saturday night!! Is he mad, I ask myself? He says he has a huge backlog so needs to discuss my forthcoming treatment on Zoom (to be safe) when he can squeeze in a time.

WOODMOUSE49 Tue 24-Nov-20 15:51:52

Ellianne

No WOODMOUSE Neil DOES appear in the live show because he dances with the singer acts like the old black man this weekend.

shock So he did. Well spotted Ellianne

Parsley I would like to be around with a pair of scissors and a razor. He is a good dancer but I cannot stop looking at that gross hair.

When the show started I had never seen or heard of Maisie before but I have thought and still think she is a good dancer.

This week it should be JJ in the dance-off but I do not know who else as the standard is high.

On the way home from school with DGS this afternoon, we were discussing what to have for our "special" dinner on Saturday evening, I did a shopping order this morning and he is always very interested in what I have bought. DGS said he did not want to watch the lady who started licking the man, said it was 'really gross and yucky'.
I reassured him she had gone home, out of the mouths of babes.

Parsley3 Mon 23-Nov-20 14:03:06

Caroline’s facial expressions during her dance were embarrassing. She did tone it down for the dance off but the damage was done and I am glad she is gone.
Billy Ocean’s performance wouldn’t have been out of place in a pub karaoke at closing time. Apart from that, I am enjoying Bill’s improvement week on week.

Sparklefizz Mon 23-Nov-20 13:20:58

When Billy Ocean was announced, I was trying to work out how old he must be as I know what I was doing in my life when his song "When the going gets tough" was first out, and it was 1985-6. So when he began singing, I wasn't at all surprised that he had lost his voice.

I always think it's a shame they don't give up when they are still at their peak. I felt embarrassed hearing Neil Diamond sing on TV last year but perhaps he didn't realise how he sounded.

Calendargirl Mon 23-Nov-20 12:58:50

Yes, sadly Billy Ocean is following in the footsteps of Elton, Paul McCartney, Elaine Paige et al in that as they age, the voice just isn’t what it was.

Shame.

Ellianne Mon 23-Nov-20 12:27:04

Thanks Danni. I've never heard of him and thought he was very croaky and off key
Sorry, I only said old black man because it followed on from my red haired dancer comment. Hoops!

kittylester Mon 23-Nov-20 12:25:05

Danni, I was si looking forward to seeing Billy Ocean yesterday but I was a bit disappointed.

DanniRae Mon 23-Nov-20 12:22:03

Just to let you know that the man that you are referring to Ellianne is the legendary singer Billy Ocean.

Ellianne Mon 23-Nov-20 12:10:30

No WOODMOUSE Neil DOES appear in the live show because he dances with the singer acts like the old black man this weekend.

WOODMOUSE49 Mon 23-Nov-20 12:03:26

Ellianne The group dances were all recorded weeks before the live show started. This is mentioned on the show. Neil doesn't appear in the live show at all.

If you notice there are other pro dancers in the group performances that don't have a celeb partner.

Sparklefizz Mon 23-Nov-20 11:53:17

Yes, I thought all the Eastenders fans would be voting for Maisie. She did come across as a bit over-confident at the start, but she does some very quick and complicated dancing and hasn't deserved to be in the dance off.

Ellianne Mon 23-Nov-20 11:50:00

I'm intrigued why Maisie is always in the bottom two after the public vote. Ok she is a bit hefty legged and heavy footed, but she certainly throws herself into some fairly complicated dancing.
It is being said people find her loud and gobby, (very much like her Eastenders character), but for heaven's sake she is an Essex girl and only 19 at that. I'm starting to feel a bit sorry for her!

Sparklefizz Mon 23-Nov-20 11:49:55

Yes, Ellianne Neil is the red-haired dancer. I don't like him much either. I bet the Strictly bosses are really mad when the whole show is at risk after all the precautions they have taken and sacrifices people have made in order to appear in it.

Katya apparently went out to a sandwich shop, which is probably where she caught the virus.

Ellianne Mon 23-Nov-20 11:44:38

Is that the red haired dancer? I've never liked him much. Seeing as he isn't needed for celeb dances they should boot him off.
I had a tiny sneaky suspicion Nicola's partner Katya might have had an outing somewhere to catch covid? She is quite volatile.

Sparklefizz Mon 23-Nov-20 11:32:23

I have just read online that Neil Jones' girlfriend has broken lockdown to go to a party, and then went back to the flat she shares with Neil, thus putting him and the whole show at risk! shock

Grannynannywanny Mon 23-Nov-20 10:53:34

I don’t think Caroline licked poor Johannes in the dance off as she did the previous night. I wonder if she was improvising on Saturday and she was advised how cringeworthy it came across.

Between the facial expressions and the licking I felt embarrassed for her and also Johannes.
