Thanks Dragonfly46. That's made my day. I had thought it might have been Round the Horne, but you've cracked it!! I remember the second verse was to the tune of Moonlight and Melody which we used to sing at school.Thanks a lot

I'm trying to remember all the words of a song I heard on a comedy show in the 1950s. All the shipping forecasts were sung to the tunes of popular opeas. The only words I remember are SOUTH CONES HAVE BEEN HOISTED.......BUT ITS BRIGHT NEARLY EVERY NIGHT ROUND THE ISLE OF WIGHT. Another one was ROCKALL AND FINISTERRE SOUTHALL AND CROMARTY,
