Anyone watched this. I watched this afternoon and was so glad i did watch it during the day, it is quite scary. Some of the special effects are amazing but as i said they are scarey. So if of a nervous disposition don't watch. I didn't think i would like it and thought it would be rubbish, but i think it is quite a good story so far.
Having been a Dracula fan since the 1960s I gave it a shot but just too nasty and gruesome for me. There was also a programme called In Search of Dracula where Mark Gatiss covered the whole history from the book until this latest effort. On the screen, apart from the amazing Christopher Lee, my favourite was Frank Langella in 1979 who was sensuous and beautiful. Much more attractive than the latest Dracula!
What a let down with the final third part of the series! The first was entertaining enough, the second, all set aboard ship was riveting, couldn’t have been bettered, and the third was .......rubbish. I liked the twist at the start, Dracula in modern day England, After that it went downhill all the way to it’s ridiculous ending. It was as if three different writers had done each part of the series, utterly bizarre. Great acting all the way though from Claes Bang.
I thought the acting was tremendous. The count changed from a 19th century to a 21st century man and Agatha and Zoe Van Helsing were amazing. She switched between the voices so clearly so you could hear when Agatha was coming through. Fantastic.
I couldn't be married to Claes Bang after watching Dracula, I wouldn't be able to close my eyes and not see the horror. Loved the last episode, quite a novel twist.
I was going to watch this on catch-up but you now have to have an account with BBC in order to use it. This gives them personal information about you, including whether you have a tv license.
I’m enjoying it. As already mentioned, it is very, very loosely based on the book, but I think it is very clever. I love the humour in it and references to other programmes/songs, and the special effects are amazing. Yes, I also wonder how it will end.
I really enjoyed it. Very scary in places, well directed, great script especially some of the humour of Dracula himself. I started feeling vert claustrophobic as the lawyer chap was running up and down staircases and winding corridors trying to find his way out, I have had similar dreams where I can't find my way back to my bedroom so perhaps that is why it struck such a note with me!
The special effects are impressive, also the sexiness of Count Dracula . I tried to enjoy the play but I can't see any serious point to the Dracula story, except that nun whose "calling was along time ago". Count Dracula is too obvious to be a serious contender to be the paradigm of evil.
