I am watching the news and an item about Groundhog Day from the USA

I’ve never seen such rubbish in all my life!

Exploiting a poor little what I assume to be a groundhog who was shaking so much it was visible on camera.

It was truly awful

I didn't see it, but it is an American tradition. Why we need to know about it is a mystery as we don't have groundhogs in this country. Punxsutawney Phil is the poor little rodent in question. He isn't wild, and ought to be used to being handled. The rest of the year he eats sleep and has his photo taken. Perhaps he was cold.

Groundhog Day! Great film.

I expect it is very well looked after.

I've seen that film so many times if I saw it again it would be like Groundhog Day.

Yes Whitewave I saw the groundhog item on the BBC News channel yesterday and immediately put in a complaint to the BBC in regards to the way the animal was treated. I would emphasize that I am not a member of any animal rights organisation, and I am normally a strong supporter of the BBC and have never complained about any item or program before

However, in regards to the above, to see this poor animal held up in the air in front of people shouting and screaming in regard a subject many of us would feel was not at all newsworthy in Great Britain really had me incensed. The animal (which I assumed was a groundhog) was shivering and shaking and quite clearly terrified but still the BBC continued the broadcast with the studio presenter laughing and seemingly oblivious to what was being shown on her own screen.

Totally disgusting
