I watched it and it was so emotional I cried with them . I never realised just how much the life of a stammerer is affected by their speech problems.
If you did not watch it then try to on catch up tv I promise you will not be disappointed.

I watched this too. You're right it was really eye opening and emotional I was willing them on all the way. It will be interesting to see how much progress is made during the course of this programme. Good luck to them all.

Yes we watched it. My heart went out to them but they did so well in the end.

Do watch it, I caught up tonight. Really emotional viewing. Well done to all the participants.

I watched it this evening. So very emotional, so hard to watch. Weren’t they brilliant though? To think that they tried so hard to hide themselves away because of the stammer and yet they found the courage to be filmed and put themselves right in the spotlight. So brave.

What a wonderful programme. It was so uplifting - and a little nerve wracking too worrying whether everybody would be able to make good progress.

Brilliant and emotional. So very brave of the participants especially with the cameras there.

I didn't see it, but was very moved recently by a video I saw of Ed Sheeran addressing an American support group for stammerers. Apparently he stammered badly as a child following an operation to remove a huge port wine birth mark on his face. What helped him was copying the speech patterns of rap artists, and his dad bought him some highly unsuitable rap CDs, having no idea of the content!

Such a good programme, such brave people. One of my GC began stammering about a year ago after some changes in their life.

It was very moving and rather astonishing that this new method seems to be getting results that have not been seen before.
It seems to be very much a matter of breathing properly and the emotional suppport and confidence given by the mentors who had themselves been stammers.

I can relate to this a bit. I am in a couple of choirs now and sometimes I still can't quite get the notes out when I am trying to practice a piece at home. I get nervous and my breathing "goes to pot". A lot of this depends on how I am feeling at the time if I am feeling tense that has a bad effect on me.
The two choirs I am in now both have excellent conductors and my confidence is getting very much better. Not sure I would do any solo stuff though.
