For fans of the French crime series Spiral. It's back tonight! smile The actress who played Catherine in Witnesses resumes her lawyer role, if I remember rightly her handsome lover died in the last series and Laure is now on maternity leave.

Ready and waiting!

Same here, and have set it to record, because just as you are getting into something, someone phones, don't they?

I kept missing this despite being reminded by my French class-so have set it up to record now. Thanks for reminding us.

Yay!! I'm really pleased, one of my favourites, thanks for the heads upsmile

Still think the white haired bloke is Arsen Wenger [sp] doing a job on the side in case Arsenal sack him...

I knew he reminded me of someone!

Watching it on catchup late at night [but keep falling asleep]. Going away on Sunday for a few days [no catchup there] so need to have caught up by then. Does anyone else fancy Laures tubby sidekick blush...?

Nannylovesshopping Wed 10-Jan-18 21:25:09

Oh yes Tegan2 we could agree to share the crushgrin

Josephine has really flipped her lid this time! How on earth does she expect to get away with running over the man she thinks raped her, not to mention her attentions to him in hospital?

Quite and why didn’t anybody come when the machines beeped?

TerriBull Mon 22-Jan-18 11:09:13

"Does anyone else fancy Laure's tubby sidekick" Absolutely, it's hard to explain why, he is indeed quite tubby and scruffy, but I guess it's the Gallic charm. I do hope Gilou and Laure become a proper item, although I'm wondering about the logistics of raising the baby once she is allowed home. There was an interesting snippet in the Sunday Times Culture magazine yesterday, apparently Spiral has a viewing audience of over 1 million which is more than most BBC4 productions can expect. They commented as follows "Spiral works partly because it is a superbly crafted police drama with some gripping plots, but also because the handful of leads, including Laure and Judge Roban are flawed individuals with fascinating back stories". They went on to contrast Spiral with the heavily plugged McMaffia where they thought it was difficult to empathise with most of the characters.

Oh God only 4 more episodes to go sad Saturday nights will revert to being dull, unless of course "The Bridge" or something of that calibre returns.

I haven't actually got a clue what's happening in Spiral, plot wise, and don't even follow the subtitles but I love it. However, I didn't watch the last series so a lot of the things happening go over my head; don't really know the 'back stories', either. I only started watching it years ago as it filled the gap left by 'The Killing'.

Why the nookie on the office desk? - surely they could pop home or a bed, or eve rug!

whitewave Mon 22-Jan-18 14:42:21

Laura’s tubby side kick could do with a good bath!

Tegan2 Mon 22-Jan-18 22:54:32

Well, I hope they put all that paperwork back onto the desk for the next day...
