Coincidence - I was listening to the theme on youtube yesterday!
We must watch the series - missed it when it was originally screened.

Adagio from Spartacus by Khachaturian

I watched every episode, by myself. Children asleep and DH out playing with his band. Then off to dream of romance on the high seas.

Brings back memories of my mum who loved this programme and the music. Happy tear in my eye.

The music was so lovely

I was married then, and we always settled down to watch The Onedin Line, lovely opening music as I remember.

I remember that series.

It even inspired a real shipping line in Stockholm (Ånedinlinjen)

I loved that programme but I don't have time to watch all the current programmed that I'd like to.

If anyone is interested this programme from 1971 is being shown on Drama starting on 6 January. I was still at school then!
